The Sui Dynasty unified the north and the south, and the style of writing was also integrated. Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty promoted the change of writing style through administrative power. Su Yang also followed the trend of the times and had many contacts with southern literati. His poetry combines the boldness of the north with the freshness and elegance of the south, changes the flashy atmosphere of the Northern and Southern Dynasties, reflects the new atmosphere of the literary world, and has achieved high creative achievements. He is one of the representative poets in the transitional period of poetic style and writing style. Liu Xizai in Qing Dynasty said, "Poetry is magnificent and elegant. The shortcoming of Qi Liang's prose is noble and elegant, but not temperament, so it can be corrected. "

Su Yang's early representative works include two poems, The Embankment, written in the 28th year of Emperor Wen (598). When the author returned from the Turkic conquest, he represented Su Yang's frontier poems. Xue Daoheng and Yu Shiqi both sang with it. Su Yang's frontier poems describe the facts at that time in the style of ancient Yuefu. Su Yang has direct experience of the war situation and scenery outside the Great Wall. In his poems, Su Yang expressed the military life beyond the Great Wall in the form of literature and art, showed the spiritual outlook of the northern society, fully demonstrated the vigorous and simple life atmosphere of the northern nationalities, swept away the flashy style of writing in the Six Dynasties, and brought a new atmosphere of development to the poetry circles in the Sui Dynasty.
Su Yang attaches great importance to the poet Xue Daoheng. His existing poems are all works dedicated to Xue Daoheng. In addition to the two poems "Seizure", Xue Daoheng also sang in Seizure. In the 19th year of Emperor Wendi, Su Yang wrote two "History of Xue Nei Sitting Alone in a Shanzhai", and in the 20th year of Emperor Wendi wrote "History of Xue Nei". Among the poems dedicated to Xue, The History of Sitting Alone in a Mountain Village and To Xue Nei are the most praised by later generations. These two poems describe the scenery and miss people, and express their feelings with the scenery. The author depicts the mountain scenery by line drawing, which sets off the author's feelings of missing distant people.
In the Sui Dynasty, the general trend reached bodhisattva.
In addition, there is a poem written for Xue Bozhou in chapter 14, recalling life experiences and admiring bosom friends in his later years. It is revealed in the poem that he was Gao Zhen's master in his later years and was afraid of Yang-ti. The whole set of poems is "full of words and charm". ("Sui Shu? Yang Suchuan ")
When Yang Guang became a prince, he was afraid that Yang Xiu, the king of Shu, and Su Yang conspired with him to frame Yang Xiu, and was finally deposed. For a period of time, Su Yang was in power, then Ma Xu Liu Shu, the minister of war, spoke in front of Emperor Wendi, and Dali Liang Qing was impeached, which alienated Emperor Wendi from Su Yang. After Yang Guang succeeded to the throne, Su Yang was still suspected by Yang Guang, and eventually died of serious illness, and refused to take medicine for the great cause for two years.
There are fourteen poems to Xue Bozhou in Su Yang's later period. Some scholars think that "broadcasting" is a mistake of "model". In August 604, Emperor Wendi of Sui lived in Renshou for four years, and Xue Daoheng turned to Zhou Fan (now Guangzhou) as the secretariat. When he passed through Hunan, he wrote Poems into Chen Jiang, and soon he wrote Poems as Gifts. These poems combine the poetic styles of the North and the South, expressing the feelings of life, the desolation of old age and the care for friends.
