The composer's name is Hua Yanjun, and he was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu. He has a strong interest in folk music, and has learned to play drums, flute, erhu and pipa since childhood. By the time he was fifteen or sixteen, he had become an outstanding local musician. When he was thirty-four, his illness made him blind. Poor and sick, he lives in the streets and has a very hard life. But he is resolute, never begging for alms from others, but making a living by busking. He is what we are familiar with-blind A Bing. A Bing has lived at the bottom of the society for a long time, and he has a distinct love and hate. He has composed many pieces of music. What we heard just now is A Bing's representative Erhu Opera "Two Springs Reflecting the Moon". A Bing, formerly known as Hua Yanjun, was born in the 19th year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty (1893 ~195) and was a native of Wuxi, Jiangsu. After he became blind, he was called "blind A Bing". His father, Hua Qinghe, is the master Taoist of Leizun Hall, a Taoist temple in Sanqing Hall in Wuxi City, and he is good at Taoist music. Hua Yanjun lost his mother when he was young and was raised by his aunt. At the age of 8, he worked as a Taoist priest with his father in Leizun Hall. In Wuxi city, a landlord raped a 13-year-old girl in his family. When A Bing knew about it, he immediately made up words and sang about it, exposing the evil deeds of the landlord, arousing public anger and scaring the landlord into fleeing for several months.
On one occasion, Tang Enbo, a warlord of the Kuomintang, asked A Bing to sing a birthday party for his thirteenth aunt. A Bing flatly refused and was severely beaten, but A Bing did not give in, and made up lyrics and played the erhu to lambaste them.
During the Anti-Japanese War, when the Japanese occupied Wuxi, a man named Zhang Shijun became a traitor. When A Bing found out, he made up words to scold him and was beaten up again. Later, the traitor was killed by the Japanese, and A Bing clapped his hands and sang a song "The Traitor's End" along the street, which was applauded by Wuxi people.
Hua Yanjun's Tomb
hua yan jun mu, a tomb of A Bing. Located at Yingshan Lake in the east foot of Huishan in Wuxi Xihui Park. Hua Yanjun, the blind man A Bing, a folk musician, died in December 195 and was buried in the tomb of the Taoist priest at the foot of Canshan Mountain in the western suburbs of Wuxi. In May 1979, the tomb was destroyed, and the bones were picked up in situ by Wuxi Museum. In 1983, it was moved to the present site at the east foot of Huishan and south of Er Quan. The cemetery covers an area of 742 square meters, and the main body consists of a tomb wall.
