Artists' appreciation of Zhu Ziqing's "Back View". Please ask for the author and the original text.

This article is the author’s recollection of what happened eight years ago. The author was studying in the Philosophy Department of Peking University at the time. When he learned that his grandmother had passed away, he rushed from Beijing to Xuzhou and returned to Yangzhou with his father for the funeral. After the funeral, his father went to Nanjing to find a job, and the author returned to Beijing to study. Father and son said goodbye in Pukou. This article vividly expresses the sincere feelings between father and son. However, it is different from ordinary works that describe the portraits, expressions, voices, smiles, etc., but captures a characteristic "back" of the characters, and does not hesitate to use pen and ink to create detailed descriptions. .

The author's handling of this matter is closely related to the author's family background and state of mind. My father was in a "decadent" old age, suffered many hardships, was down and out for half his life, his family was in a bleak situation, his grandmother passed away, and when he was looking for a job, he still worked tirelessly and took the trouble to send his son to Beijing. Be careful that the father was in a bad mood at that time, and the son was also in a bad mood.

Therefore, the author grasped the "back view" of his father and concentrated the description to express his thoughts and feelings in a specific environment, which naturally achieved a strong artistic effect. Precisely because the work writes about a specific family situation, state of mind, and the love and affection between a loving father and a filial son, there is a touch of sadness in the lines, which makes it more sincere and moving.
