Bao Puzi was written by Ge Hong in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, which is divided into two parts. Today, there are 20 articles about immortals, an alchemist, Zuo Fu and other things inside, and 50 articles about "gains and losses of current politics and obscure personnel" outside. Foreign articles include strategist, Shang Bo, Ci, satellites, etc. It also involves the content of literary theory criticism.
In Bao Puzi, Ge Hong integrated metaphysics with Taoism, theology with Taoism, alchemy with alchemy, alchemy with spells, Confucianism with immortals, thus establishing a theoretical system of Taoist immortals. This book summarizes the immortal theory since Wei and Jin Dynasties, establishes the Taoist immortal theory system, and inherits Wei Boyang's alchemy theory, which is a great achievement of alchemy in Wei and Jin Dynasties.
The ideological connotation of Bao Puzi;
Ge Hong's construction of Taoist theoretical system is mainly reflected in his book "The Inner Chapter of Bao Puzi". Bao Puzi's Inner Chapter subjectively transformed Zhuangzi when constructing the Taoist theoretical system, reconciled the theory of "Qi's life and death" in Zhuangzi with Taoist immortal thought, and finally constructed a relatively complete Taoist theoretical system, showing Ge Hong's conscious absorption and transformation process of Taoist thought represented by Zhuangzi in the construction of Taoist theory and belief practice mode in Wei and Jin Dynasties.
