There are more than 2,700 poems by Su Shi, which are extremely rich in content. According to its theme, it can be roughly divided into four categories: social and political poems, landscape poems, Hetao poems and painting poems. The creation of these poems can be divided into two periods, one is the period when the author was relegated to Huangzhou. In the early stage, with lofty political aspirations and Confucian thought of practical application, he created a large number of social and political poems with critical spirit, including many works that criticized the current disadvantages and satirized the new law. The theme of the later period is to express the complex and contradictory life feelings during the relegation period. Based on the transcendence of Buddhism and old ideas, his creative style changed from heroic to simple and natural in line with his fate.
