Hearing impairment seriously affects these people's social interaction and personal life quality. The factors leading to deafness are ototoxic drugs, heredity, infection and diseases, and the number of deaf people caused by environmental noise pollution and accidents is increasing gradually. This huge group of disabled people with special difficulties has attracted great attention from the whole society, especially the health department. Some cities in China have set up steering groups to prevent deafness, carried out epidemiological investigations on ear diseases, actively expanded cooperation fields with international organizations such as the World Health Organization, and conducted extensive academic exchanges. The standards for clinical use of ototoxic drugs issued by the Ministry of Health have played an important role in strengthening the management of ototoxic drugs and reducing the occurrence of hearing and language disabilities.

1In March 1998, at the first meeting of the Ninth National Committee of the China People's Political Consultative Conference, 15 members of the social welfare sector put forward the No.2330 proposal on "Suggesting to carry out the publicity activities of ear-loving day" in view of the current situation of high incidence, large number, great harm and weak prevention of deafness in China. This proposal has attracted the attention of relevant departments, and the China Disabled Persons' Federation, the Ministry of Health and other departments 10 agreed to designate March 3rd of each year as National Ear Love Day.
There are 20.57 million deaf-mute disabled people in China. Children born with congenital disabilities account for about 4% ~ 6% of the total birth population every year. Due to drugs, heredity, infection and diseases, there are about 30,000 new deaf newborns every year. That is, there are 20.57 million disabled people with hearing and language barriers! It accounts for 1.679% of the national population. Among them, there are 800,000 deaf children under 7 years old and 9.49 million elderly deaf people. Some experts have demonstrated that if the "Love Ear Day" can be implemented, at least 20,000 cases of drug-induced deafness in children under 7 years old can be reduced every year. Since the establishment of the national "Ear-loving Day" in 2000, the public propaganda of deafness prevention and treatment and the national awareness of ear-loving have been improved, but the propaganda of popular science is not enough. Now that the fourth Love Ear Day is coming, the Ministry of Health, together with relevant agencies, requires all provinces to do a good job in summarizing the publicity and education activities of Love Ear Day, collect and sort out local activities, touching cases, publicity materials and pictures in time, and report them to the Rehabilitation Coordination Group of Deaf Children of the National Rehabilitation Office for the Disabled; Various publicity activities will be held for apprentices.
Strengthening the prevention and treatment of ear diseases will not happen overnight, and it is not just the activities of the Ministry of Health or the Disabled Persons' Federation. It is closely related to the life of our people and needs the unremitting participation and support of the whole society for many years.
Summary of Love Ear Day activities
With the strong support of teachers and the enthusiastic participation of students, our group successfully participated in the seventh national "Love Ear Day" publicity and education activities.
With the theme of "preventing hearing loss and enjoying a better world", our group went to Wang Yue Road Community for free hearing examination, blood pressure measurement and free consultation on listening knowledge on the morning of March 5th. The specific data are now published as follows: * * There are 22 people in this group who participated in the pure tone audiometry test, 14 female, 8 male, ***4. 3 ears, including extremely mild 1 ear, mild deafness in 7 ears, moderate deafness 17 ears, moderate deafness 12 ears, moderate deafness in 5 ears and extreme deafness 1 ear.
* * * Three people wear hearing AIDS to test. Among the people who were tested, 5 people had worn hearing AIDS, but they did not continue to use them for various reasons. We have explained these people, people who can use hearing AIDS and people with severe hearing loss, and encouraged them to wear hearing AIDS conditionally, adapt actively and not give up because of temporary discomfort. We should use confidence, patience and perseverance to create our own beautiful world. During the service, we also found that many people came to us with hearing AIDS. According to their private complaints, the effect of hearing AIDS is very different from that when they were first worn, and it is inconvenient to debug when they are old, so some people have the idea of giving up wearing them, in fact, because the after-sales service of hearing aid fitting center is too poor. As usual, it will inevitably lead to a vicious circle. We audiologists should try our best to make every hearing aid user feel satisfied when using it. What is most lacking in daily work is active concern and questioning.
In addition, because we know very little about hearing AIDS and have no basic tools such as earphone debugging sticks, there is nothing we can do for users who want to debug hearing AIDS. In the future, it may be more meaningful to know more about hearing AIDS, practice more, audition more hearing AIDS, and accumulate more knowledge before going to community service, so as to increase the sense of accomplishment and expand the service population. Through this service, we deeply feel that people in different places have great differences in their understanding of hearing AIDS and deafness, and our work has a long way to go.
