Even if we are a candle, we should turn it into ashes and tears before it dries; Even if we are just a match, we must shine once at a critical moment;

Behind every sad and struggling face, every straight or bent body, draw every dark and sad shadow.

Look, the yellowish light is shaking its last time on the pole.

people don't like lies, no matter how pretentious and grandiose they are, they won't touch people's hearts. Everyone has a scale to measure language in his heart.

The window is closed, surrounded by the darkness of night, and raindrops are flowing painfully on the glass of the window ...

Ah, how fresh the fields are when dawn wears white clothes!

whose tears return to the heart? The city is the youngest. It is so beautiful that wherever you go, you will find your hometown.

In the village, the barking of dogs made the sparse stars tremble all over the sky.

Ask the civilized land, ask the thawed river, ask the swallows from the south, and ask the gentle willow about the reading experience of Selected Poems of Ai Qing.

Some things are unshakable and unchangeable, such as loyalty to the country and the nation, such as always retaining the position of some admired people or relatives and friends around you in my heart, such as the basic judgment on an excellent work ... no matter what the vicissitudes of the world, no matter how ruthless the years are, they are rock-solid.

China Youth Publishing House has published two poems by Ai Qing to commemorate the 7th anniversary of the victory of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the people of China, and the world anti-fascist war. One is "I love this land: Ai Qing's Anti-Japanese War Poems" and the other is "Time: Ai Qing's Selected Poems".

I was in awe when I got these two poems. Although there are many works in this book, I have been familiar with them since I was a teenager, but I still can't put them down like I just got a long-awaited new book, sitting in front of the case all night and reviewing them carefully.

Ai Qing, together with Nie Luda of Chile and Tomek of Turkey, is called "the three great people's poets of the 2th century". As a poet who entered the world in China in the last century, there are numerous versions of "Selected Poems of Ai Qing" at home and abroad since the 195s. Only the National Library of the United States has more than 3 such poems. There are also differences in sentence breaks, line breaks, chapters and translations in various versions, which need to be standardized urgently.

I learned about the plan of publishing these two poems by China Youth Publishing House earlier last October, and learned that Aidan was devoting himself to the compilation and revision of Ai Qing's poems. Aidan, the son of Ai Qing, was Ai Qing's secretary in his later years, and he was responsible for the compilation, which was the original source of Ai Qing's works.

Nearly two-thirds of Ai Qing's works, which have been handed down to this day, were written during the Anti-Japanese War, which influenced several generations. The news media and literary circles at home and abroad respectfully call Ai Qing "Yan 'an Battlefield Poet", "Red Poet", "Poet Leader" and "Poet Sage" ... But I think, as far as art itself is concerned, these titles are not enough to accurately define Ai Qing's artistic achievements and status. It is undoubtedly not comprehensive to simply use "grief and indignation as a poet" to prove Ai Qing's poems and his time.
