Light a lamp of gratitude
Teachers and students:
Hello everyone! The title of my speech today is: Light a lamp of gratitude.
Flowers are grateful to the rain and dew, because the rain and dew nourish them to grow; the goshawk is grateful to the sky, because the sky allows it to fly; the mountains are grateful to the earth, because the earth allows it to stand tall. And we should be grateful for the selfless rain and dew, the generous sky, the fraternal earth, and even more so for the endless kindness in the world.
In this world, there is a kind of person called mother.
When the May breeze blows through the grass and trees in the wilderness, I don’t realize that Mother’s Day has passed for a long time. But I still remember that day when I stupidly asked my mother: Why is there only Mother’s Day but not Children’s Day? My mother answered me with a smile: “Because mothers celebrate holidays for their children every day.” Yes, mothers always give to themselves. When her children celebrate the holidays, she uses her motherly nature to tolerate their children's faults and try to meet their needs. However, when faced with our ungrateful complaints, the mother's heart only slowly breaks bit by bit. How is this not chilling? Remember in "The Wandering Son's Song" "Whoever speaks of grass will be rewarded with three rays of spring". Remember in "Disciples' Regulations", "Disciples' Regulations are the teachings of saints. The first is filial piety, and the second is sincerity." Remember "Twenty-Four Filial Piety" "Zhu Shouchang abandoned his official position to seek his mother. Huang Tingjian's personal washing and drowning device". Honor your parents, this has always been the case. The crow feeds back and the lamb knelt down to nurse. Why shouldn’t we be grateful to our mother?”
In this world, there is a kind of love called kindness.
Honoring parents is the foundation of human beings and the starting point of gratitude. And it’s not just our parents who are kind to us. Don’t you see, who spends several times the time we spend on solving questions to stay up late and correct test papers, who uses his infinite energy to burn the midnight oil to prepare for tomorrow’s classes; don’t you see, who is by your side when you are sad, who is succeeding? I bless you silently; don’t you see, who gave us an atmosphere for learning and who gave us the opportunity to show ourselves; don’t you see, who nourishes us with endless food and who provides us with fresh food? of air. Yes, teachers, friends, school and nature. What we should be grateful to are the people of all ages and the mountains and rivers of nature. When you are running for your own life, you might as well turn around and take a look: Before you know it, the road is long, the rivers and seas are filled with love, and the mountains are filled with kindness.
In this world, there is a kind of cultivation called gratitude.
In "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", the Wu-Shu alliance defeated Cao's army in the Battle of Chibi. Cao Mengde borrowed arrows from a straw boat and set fire to the camp. Cao Mengde fled in panic on Huarong Road, but was captured by Guan Yu halfway. Although Guan Yu had issued a military order, he let Cao Cao go out of gratitude. Guan Yunchang is righteous to Bo Yuntian, because he knows how to be grateful. Roosevelt once had his home robbed, but wrote in a letter to a friend: "Dear friend, thank you for your letter to comfort me. I am fine now. Thank God, because first, the thief took my things instead of my life. ; Second, the thief only stole some of my things, not all of them; third, he was the thief, not me. "Theft is an unfortunate thing, but Roosevelt found three reasons to be grateful. It can be seen that an important reason why successful people in ancient and modern times and abroad are successful is to be grateful. Gratitude is a state of mind and a quality. We are the descendants of the Chinese nation and the inheritors of Chinese culture, so we must know how to inherit and be grateful. To be grateful for the cultural traditions accumulated over thousands of years, and to be grateful to our ancestors for their contribution to the nation. It is they who allow us to have a rich cultural heritage, it is they who give us the innate elegance, and it is their creations that allow us to live in modern times. In big cities, our hearts will not be dry. It is these things that accumulate strength for us and give us many attitudes towards life. If you feel grateful, you can then speak; if you are grateful, you can then act. If you are grateful in your heart, then what you do will always come true, and what you do will always come true.
My dear friend, please be grateful too. Make your parents a cup of tea and tell them you care; understand your teachers’ youthful feelings and stop them from worrying about your ignorance; work hard to protect nature, pick up the pieces of paper on the ground, and extinguish the burning ones. Cigarette butts; strive to be grateful to society and repay society in the future. Life is only for one belief, a belief that is born and grows out of gratitude.
When gratitude has become a cultivation, when excellence has become a habit, you will find that not far ahead, a lamp of gratitude has been lit to illuminate the vast dark night for you and accompany you. Grow and shape your dreams.
Please everyone light a lamp of gratitude and let our world be brightly lit!
Thank you all, this concludes my speech.
