Deuteronomy 32 Hope in the Song of Moses

Reading classics:

Deuteronomy chapter 32

Scripture:

Rejoice with the people of the Lord, you Gentiles, for he will avenge the blood of his servants, avenge his enemies, cleanse his land and redeem his people. (Deuteronomy 32:43)

Key words:

Redeem his people ...

Experience:

Another song of Moses contains a lot of sadness. Man's disobedience and God's discipline, man's depravity and God's punishment, man's sin and God's justice. A poem like a prophecy tells the history of the Israeli nation for hundreds or even thousands of years. However, at the end of this poem full of all kinds of severe reprimands, it once again brings gratifying information. The Lord God will "redeem his people!"

Sometimes I wonder, if we were asked to rate our performance before and after believing in the Lord, how many points would you give? Do you feel that after you believe in the Lord, you have not become too good, and maybe you will let God down sometimes? In fact, God knows our nature. Even if we are determined to follow him, we will still let him down, just as he knows that the Israelites will gradually abandon him and forget his grace after crossing the Jordan River into Canaan.

Yes, God knows. Knowing that this group of Israelis will gradually deviate from his laws and regulations, will forget his kindness and compassion, will become more and more proud, and will follow the bad customs of the world and worship idols and leave him. But even so, God still loves them! He will discipline his own people, he will punish those who do evil, and he will beat his own children! But in the end, he will bring these children home after all!

Lord, Lord, we often let you down and grieve, which will also lead to your discipline and punishment, but when all this is over, you are still willing to accept us home. Lord, Lord, you said that the Gentiles would cheer with your people, because you wanted your voters to make all nations happy. Today, you also hope that we can all be the blessings of others, so Lord, may you personally fulfill your kindness and let us be your true witnesses in the world.

Pray:

Lord, if some of your children are being disciplined by you, please let them see the hope of the future through discipline and know that after discipline, you will eventually save them. Amen!
