This major mainly studies English and American novels, poems, plays and so on. At the same time, with the help of the advantages of comprehensive universities, comparative literature, especially the comparison and translation research between western China literature and modern British and American literature, is widely carried out. In addition, this major also conducts research on translation theory, translation practice, language comparison, cultural comparison and translation.

5. Basic requirements of scientific research ability and level:
1. Understand the research history and present situation at home and abroad and the development of related disciplines;
2. Be able to put forward unique and innovative research topics;
3. Be able to systematically comment and analyze related research topics;
4. During the study period, three papers (all the first authors) must be published in important journals.
