Prose poem Lonely Tree and Its Appreciation

Lonely tree

A gust of wind blew two seeds from the distant forest and scattered them in the field at will. Rain moistens them, soil buries them, and sunshine warms them. So they grew into two trees in the field.

At first, they were short, but they were pulled high from the ground by unintentional time. They see farther than before.

They also saw each other.

The field is vast, until the end of the lush plain, there are no other trees, only these two trees, far apart, standing in the middle of the field together. Their branches criss-cross like some strange rulers to measure this wilderness.

They looked at each other from a distance, thinking of each other and admiring each other. However, when spring comes, the power of life warms them, and the sap flows in their bodies, which also reminds them of the eternal mother forest, which is gone forever.

They shook the branches knowingly and silently gestured to each other. When a bird flies from tree to tree like a mind, they tremble with joy.

When the storm came, they shook in fear, broke branches, groaned and shouted as if to get rid of the ground. The two sides rushed together, grasped the bracket tightly and were rescued in mutual embrace.

When night came, they disappeared into the darkness and separated again. In their sickly pain, they look up at the sky and pray, hoping to send them the light of day as soon as possible so that they can meet again.

If the hunter and the worker sit in the shadow of one of them and rest, the other person whispers sadly, telling how miserable the lonely life is and how slow, heavy and meaningless the days away from their loved ones are; Their ideals disappear because they are not understood; Their hopes were dashed because they could not be realized; How strong the love without comfort is, how unbearable the situation without affection is.

Appreciate that Erin Palin is famous for her poems in the literary world, but her novels and essays have also made great achievements. His essay Lonely Tree was praised for its originality. Due to the direct integration of poetic features, The Lonely Tree has become a short and pithy prose poem.

The topic of "loneliness" and the family, friendship and love derived from it are not new topics in the history of literature. But the author uses the image of "lonely tree" to make "loneliness" diffract a vivid side. The lonely tree tells an old-fashioned topic of human beings-loneliness. Two seeds were blown to the vast fields by strong winds, and then took root and sprouted, growing into towering trees. Because they are far away from the mother forest, they can only "look at each other from afar" and "miss and admire each other" and snuggle together alone. This storm makes them "close to each other" and "liberated by embracing each other", which is a classic symbol of friendship. "When spring comes, everything comes back to life," and "their hearts also arouse the yearning for the eternal mother forest, and that forest has left forever". "They shook the branches knowingly, silently gesturing to each other. When a bird flies from tree to tree like a heart, they tremble with joy. "A few inspirational words convey a touching picture of family and friendship.

When "hunters and workers sit in the shadow of one and rest, while the other is sad", what they tell is the distress of lonely life, the boredom of leaving their loved ones, the misunderstanding and disappearance of ideals, the disillusionment of hope, the intense love without comfort and the unloved situation, which are no longer the loneliness of trees in a simple sense, but sublimated to the depths of human souls. How can a man deserve such a tree? Here, the loneliness of trees and people are integrated into one, which becomes the theme symbol of the similarity between nature and human society. This shows that the author seems to be writing about the loneliness of trees from beginning to end, but in fact he is alluding to the loneliness of people, which is his fundamental focus. In the article, the yearning for two trees leaving the mother forest and the pain of temporary separation in the dark actually refer to the yearning of human beings under the invisible blood roots and the true portrayal of love and acacia between men and women, which is the "loneliness" performance of separation from each other.
