On the application of ancient poetry images in couplets

Images in ancient poetry have always had a great influence on couplets, and a good couplets work can not be separated from good images from ancient times to the present. With good images, couplets can be sublimated, with deeper connotation and endless poetry, which is pleasing to the eye and memorable.

Image is the image of meaning. Integrate the objective image and subjective mind into something with certain significance and emotional appeal. Objective image is an artistic image created by the unique emotional activities of the creative subject, which is mostly used for artistic communication.

During the development of China's ancient poetry for thousands of years, some laws have been formed: some images are often used to express some specific emotions; And some emotions are often expressed through certain images. To sum up, it can be roughly divided into the following categories:

First, farewell images (or expressing reluctant feelings, or describing thoughts after parting).

1. Willow. It originated from The Book of Songs Xiaoya Cai Wei, "I was absent in the past, Liu Yiyi; Today I think about it, it's raining ",and the reluctant state of willow trees and the reluctant feeling of farewell are combined." "Liu" and "Liu" are homophonic. When the ancients bid farewell, they often expressed their deep feelings of parting by folding willows, so that many literati used this to express their resentment and nostalgia. Example: Spring injuries often break willows; The stunning Angelica sinensis is a guest burial flower.

2. Pavilion. In ancient times, there were pavilions along the road for travelers to stop to rest or see off. For example, Yu Xin, a writer of the Northern Zhou Dynasty, wrote "Mourning the South of the Yangtze River": "Ten miles and five miles, roadside pavilions." "Long Pavilion" has become an image with feelings of parting, which constantly appears in ancient farewell poems. Example: Changting composed a pipa tear; There are thousands of willows in the drizzle.

3. Nanpu. Nanpu often appears in the farewell poems of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, and becomes a common image in the farewell poems, which has a lot to do with the famous sentence "Go east to exchange children and send beautiful women to Nanpu" in Qu Yuan's Nine Songs Hebo. For example, in Nanpu Bie by Bai Juyi in the Tang Dynasty, "Nanpu is sad, and the west wind rolls autumn". For example: Nanpu Green Wave Xishan, refreshing; Spring breeze, long sunset autumn water.

4. wine. Yang Zai, the Yuan Song, said, "Anyone who gives people more wine to show their feelings and writes about the scenery to cheer them up is grateful." Wine can not only relieve depression, but also contain deep blessings. There are countless poems that associate alcohol with divorce. Example: dilute a few cups of xifeng liquor; Leave a little incense in the air.

Second, homesickness (or expressing homesickness or caring for relatives)

1, month. (1) Express homesickness, homesickness and making friends, and cover up feelings of traveling and loneliness. He knew that the dew tonight would be frost; How bright the moonlight is at home! . (2) the witness of history. For example: when the moon sets, look up at the sky, and the lonely crane shadow in the sky; The river of no return, listening to half a beach sobbing, playing the flute after night. (3) The feeling of coldness and sadness (mostly manifested by the waning moon). Example: I came from the South China Sea, passed the medicine winding furnace, and the snow fell at the bottom of the Baichi River; Since Dongpo went, the night light was isolated from the tower, and a lake was cool with plum blossoms. (4) freshness and comfort. For example: moonlight in the pine forest; Crystal gems in the stream.

2. Hongyan: Hongyan is a large migratory bird. Every autumn, it struggles to fly back to its lair, which often causes homesickness and sadness of wanderers, so poets often express their feelings through geese. Example 1: I am willing to ride the wind and waves, and Hongyan will pass the book; Who can sit back and relax and enjoy success, fate can be psychic.
