Thumb score

Thumb piano is a national musical instrument with national characteristics in Africa. Thumb piano has different names in different African countries. For example, Kalimba in Kenya is the name of this instrument, while it is called Mbira in Zimbabwe, and the Congolese call it Likembe. It also has three miscellaneous, thumb piano and other names. ?

Thumb piano is mainly used for accompaniment. When playing, hold the piano body with both hands, and then play with two thumbs. When the thumb is pressed and released, the steel plate will vibrate and make a sound. Some thumbs will be fitted with objects such as shells or soda bottles, so that they can make some similar "hissing" sounds at the same time when playing.

You can also tilt and shake on the desktop, which will produce an echo-like whirling effect, or make a tambourine-like sound when shaking, so as to enrich the sound effect. Thumb piano is small and easy to carry. When the sun goes down and dusk falls, people will form a circle as an accompaniment to singing or telling stories. Some locals will take it along the way to entertain themselves.

Thumb piano is characterized by lightness, ethereal and clear sound, similar to the sound of music box, but more transparent.
