Lorca [Spain]
On a bright green morning,
I am willing to be a heart.
A heart.
On a mature night,
I want to be an oriole.
An oriole.
(soul,
Put on orange clothes.
Soul,
Put on the color of love. )
On a lively morning
I am willing to be myself.
A heart.
In the silent night,
I would like to be my voice.
An oriole.
Soul,
Put on orange clothes!
Soul,
Wear the color of love!
(translated by Dai Wangshu)
This is a rather unique love poem. The poet expressed a special feeling: seeking balance and unity between selfless love and sober and rational self.
The first three sections can be regarded as one level. The two poems "Green Morning" and "Mature Night" use synaesthesia, implying two stages of love respectively: the lovesickness of the soul and the maturity of love. "I am willing to do it. /A heart. " No matter when, the poet is so forgetful and devoted, and a heart beats only for love and exists only for lovesickness. "I would like to be an oriole. /An oriole. " Just for love, I sing softly, softly. Soul, put on orange/soul/put on the color of love. The poet's whole heart is full of love. We lament the poet's selflessness and concentration in love. It's not surprising if this poem stops here. The last three sections continue to sing: No matter in a lively morning or in a silent night, at any stage of the love process, the hero of love always dominates himself, "I would like to be my heart" and "I would like to be my voice/an oriole". It shows the poet's rational attitude towards love and independent self-awareness. He is enthusiastic and dedicated, but he doesn't lose his self-awareness. He melts himself into the object and maintains his personality and rationality. Just like "morning" and "night", they are both contradictory and unified. It is through these two symbolic images that the poet expresses the special and reasonable modality of passionate love and sober and rational self. In fact, passionate love and sober self-reason complement each other. Only love * * * is easy to flow in frivolous waves; Blindly rational and sober, but also too dull and pedantic. Only when the two are coordinated can love be stable and mature. This shows that the poet is deeply ignorant of love.
The poem "The First Desire" is layered and interwoven, which produces an intertextuality and a turning effect, and achieves a perfect unity in content and form. The poem is fresh, lively, simple, natural, dignified and profound, with the characteristics of ancient Spanish folk songs and a strong lyrical atmosphere. Lorca expressed complex and profound ideological implications in the form of simple and simple folk songs, which is really a masterpiece in poetry. In addition, this poem is colorful, melodious, full of twists and turns and has the artistic effect of singing and sighing.
