"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"
Lyrics: Jane Taylor?
Music: Mozart
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are?
Up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky.
Hung so high in the sky, like diamonds hanging in the sky.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are.
When the blazing sun is gone, when he nothing shines upon.
When the blazing sun has set, when he no longer shines upon everything.
Then you show your little light, Twinkle twinkle all the night.
You show your little light, Twinkle twinkle all the night.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are.
Then the traveler in the dark,Thanks you for your tiny spark.
The traveler in the dark,Thanks you for your tiny spark.
The traveler in the dark,Thanks you for your tiny spark.
He could not see where to go,If you did not twinkle so.
He could not see where to go,If you did not twinkle so.
He could not see where to go,If you did not twinkle so.
Twinkle twinkle little star,How I wonder what you are!
Twinkle twinkle little star,How I wonder what you are!
In the dark blue sky you keep,Often through my curtain peep.
You miss this dark sky and often peek through my curtain.
For you never shut your eye, Till the sun is in the sky.
Never close your eyes until the sun appears in the sky again.
Twinkle twinkle little star,How I wonder what you are.
Twinkle twinkle little star,How I wonder what you are.
Twinkle twinkle little star,How I wonder what you are.
As your bright and tiny spark, Lights the traveler in the dark.
When you glow with light and faint fire, like a traveler in the dark.
Though I know not what you are, Twinkle, twinkle, little star.
Although I don’t know what you are, you are shining brightly.
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are!
Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are!
Extended information:
"Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" originated from the traditional British children's song "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" more than 200 years ago. It was composed by Mozart. Lyrics written by Jane Taylor.
Background introduction
The music of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" first appeared in the French nursery rhyme "Ah!" in 1761. "Mother, I Want to Tell You" was later adapted by the great musical genius Mozart into piano variations KV.265. In addition to the theme, the melody also has twelve variations. More than forty years later, in 1806, Jane Taylor published a poem called "Stars."
It was later collected and compiled by her sister Anne in the collection of poems "Children's Songs", and this dual poem was paired with Mozart's melody, so this widely circulated traditional British children's song "Twinkle" Twinkle Little Star" was born.
