There is no need to regret the past in this world. Mulberry Field changed several times and I thought that Mulberry Field refers to farmland. Generally speaking, the vicissitudes of life are used to describe the huge changes in world affairs, but here it is used in its original meaning.
These two sentences say: Yancheng has gone through many vicissitudes in history, and I don’t know how many more times it will change in the future!
