Xin Qiji's Translation of Yong Yule Jingkou Beigu Pavilion Nostalgia

The vernacular translation of Yong Yu Le Jing Kou Beigu Pavilion Nostalgia written by Xin Qiji in Song Dynasty is as follows: It's hard to find a hero like Sun Quan after a long history. In those days, the dancing pavilions and singing platforms were still there, but the heroes have long since disappeared with the passage of time. The setting sun shines on an ordinary alley full of grass trees. People say that it was the place where Emperor Wu of Song once lived.

In retrospect, how powerful he was when he led the Northern Expedition and recovered lost ground! However, Liu Yilong, the son of Emperor Wu of Song, was overjoyed and rushed to the Northern Expedition, but instead, TaBaTao, the emperor of the Northern Wei Dynasty, took the opportunity to send troops south, and the soldiers arrived at the north bank of the Yangtze River and returned, which was badly hit by his opponents. I have been back to the south for forty-three years, and I still remember the war scenes in Yangzhou.

how can you look back? In those days, people were offering sacrifices outside Tuoba Tao's palace, crows pecked at the sacrifices, and people lived a social day, offering him as a god, without knowing that it was once an emperor's palace. Who else will ask, Lian Po is old, and does he eat well?

The original text of the poem is as follows: Throughout the ages, heroes are nowhere to be found, and Sun Zhongmou is located. Dancing in the pavilion and singing in the platform, the wind and rain always blow away the romantic feelings. The setting sun shines on the grassy plain of the grassy tree, where people say it was the place where Emperor Wu of Song had lived. Back then, he led the northern expedition, recover lost ground how powerful!

Yuan Jia was careless, sealing the wolf to live in Xuxu, and won a hasty retreat to the north. I have been back to the south for forty-three years, and I still remember the war scenes in Yangzhou with the flames of war. Looking back, under the Beaver Temple, there was a crow club drum. Who will ask, Lian po is old, appetite is ok?

Extended information

Creation background: This poem was written in the first year of Song Ningzong's jubilee (125), and the poet Xin Qiji was 66 years old. At that time, Han Tuozhou was in power, and was actively planning the Northern Expedition. Xin Qiji, who had been idle for a long time, was used as an envoy of peace in eastern Zhejiang the year before. Xin Qiji's opinion did not attract the attention of the authorities in the Southern Song Dynasty. Once he came to Beigu Pavilion, Jingkou, and was deeply moved, so he wrote down this excellent poem.

the last film is nostalgic and lyrical. In the first and second sentences, "through the ages" is a sense of the times, taking care of the topic "nostalgia"; "Jiangshan" is a sense of reality, which refers to the topic "Jingkou Beigu Pavilion". Standing on the Beigu Pavilion, the author looked at the landscape in front of him, and his mind flashed through the heroes who had been all-powerful in this land for thousands of years. He first thought of Sun Quan, the emperor of the State of Wu during the Three Kingdoms, who had a grand plan to unify the Central Plains.

In the next three sentences, the poet thinks of Emperor Wu of Song, the second historical figure related to Jingkou. When writing about Sun Quan, first think of his achievements and then look for his remains; When writing Emperor Wu of Song, his legacy will remind him of his achievements. Then in the last three sentences, I recall the achievements of Emperor Wu of Song. Expressed the feelings that the poet admired infinitely. It also expressed the expectation of the main war faction and the irony and condemnation of the peace-seekers in the Southern Song Dynasty.

From the beginning of "Forty-three years, I still remember from looking at the middle, blazing a fire on Yangzhou Road", the word changed from nostalgia to injury to today, and I contacted myself and the current situation of resisting gold to express my feelings. The author recalls that forty-three years ago, the people in the north fought against foreign rule one after another, and they were in full swing, and they also participated in the anti-gold struggle in the war-torn north of Yangzhou.

The "looking back" in the next three sentences should be followed by the other sentence, from recalling the past to writing about the real situation in front of you. What is worth discussing here is that the beaver was the emperor of the Northern Wei Dynasty, which has been seven or eight hundred years since the Southern Song Dynasty. The people in the north worshipped him as a god. When Xin Qiji saw this scene, he couldn't bear to look back on the "bonfire Yangzhou Road" that year.

The next film quotes the historical fact that Liu Yilong's hasty Northern Expedition in the Southern Dynasties led to a crushing defeat, and advises Han Tuozhou to learn from the historical lessons and not to engage in reckless activities. Then, it uses the changes in the anti-Jin situation in the past 43 years to show that the poet's determination to recover the Central Plains remains unchanged. At the end of the three sentences, Lian Po compares himself, expressing the poet's strong desire to serve the country and lamenting that the Song Dynasty can't employ talents.
