Shiyuan Wang's Preface to Meng Haoran's Collection records: (Haoran) Wandering in the secret province, the autumn moon is new, and Zhu Wei can write poems. Hao Ran said, "Wei Yun is a light river man with sparse raindrops." If the seat is lifted, it will be clear, and the pen of Xiange will not continue.
Meng Haoran visited the secret province. After the rain in Chu and Qing Dynasties, the bright moon hung high in the autumn night, and the literati sang poems and made merry. Meng Haoran said: "There are two or three Wei Yun floating between the Milky Way, and there are some raindrops on the phoenix tree." Everyone here lamented that this sentence was so wonderful that they all stopped there. No one dares to continue reciting poems.

Creation background
Meng Haoran's poems often have an artistic conception of "light language but not light taste". When he visited Beijing at the age of 46, it coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival, and scholars in Chang 'an invited him to write poems for a meeting. His words made all the poets in the audience clap their hands and say that they dare not write any more. This sentence is light and beautiful, just like the sound of nature, representing Meng Haoran's poetic style.
