What was the status of wine in China at that time?

Wine is the favorite drink of people all over the world. It's healthy and delicious. In fact, Chinese wine originated very early.

According to research, China had planted grapes and produced wine before the Han Dynasty (206 BC). Sima Qian's Historical Records first recorded wine. In BC 138, Zhang Qian, a diplomat, was ordered by Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty to go to the Western Regions, where he studied and mastered the techniques of grape cultivation and wine-making in neighboring countries.

In the Tang dynasty, wine had a great influence in the mainland. The grape cultivation methods and wine-making methods learned from Gaochang may have lasted for a long historical period in the Tang Dynasty, so that the name of wine appeared repeatedly in many poems in the Tang Dynasty, such as the well-known poem: "Grape wine glows red at night, and immediately urges you to drink pipa" (William Wang's Liangzhou Ci). The Yuan Dynasty also had a history of growing grapes and making wine on a large scale. Mainly concentrated in Xinjiang.

1892, Zhang Bishi, an overseas Chinese, established Changyu Grape Brewing Company in Yantai, a vineyard and wine company, which introduced excellent grape varieties and mechanized production methods from the west, marking the beginning of modern wine industry in China.

19 15, Zhang Bishi led the "China Industrial Investigation Mission" to visit the United States, which coincided with the grand event of all circles in San Francisco to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal and hold an international commodity competition. Zhang sent the "Kaya Brandy", "Rose Red Wine" and "Qiong Yao Paste" that he carried with him to the exhibition for identification, and all won prizes. Later, "Kaya Brandy" was changed to "Golden Brandy", which has been used ever since.

Of course, the most famous poem about grapes is William Wang's Liangzhou Ci.

William Wang sang generously in it-

Wine luminous glass, want to drink pipa right away.

Drunk in the battlefield, you don't laugh. In ancient times, you fought for several people.

Since then, wine is not only elegant and graceful, but also passionate and fearless.
