The Qiliang Wife by Guan Xiu. Guan Xiu was a poet monk in the Tang Dynasty. His poem "The Qiliang Wife" describes the sad scene of the Qiliang wife crying for her husband. This poem promoted the evolution of the story of Meng Jiangnu to a certain extent, making the originally sad plot of the crying husband gradually become associated with the construction of the Great Wall. During the evolution of the story of Meng Jiangnu, Guan Xiu's works influenced the legend. The story of Meng Jiangnu originated from Qiliang's wife in the Spring and Autumn Period. After being passed down and created by poets, monks and literati of the past dynasties, it gradually evolved into the story of Meng Jiangnu crying at the Great Wall during the Qin Dynasty.
