Which literary value is higher, poetry or writing?

What is the function of poetry? Confucius said, "Poetry can arouse, observe, group and resent." It means that poetry can perceive the will, observe the rise and fall of customs, make friends, and even express criticism of society. At the same time, poetry can also have the function of political education, whether in rulers, literati classes or general concepts (Shangshu Yaodian: Poetry Expressing Aspiration). It is no exaggeration to say that poetry can basically be defined as the ancestor of literature.

On the other hand, when I was reading other answers, I even said that "Ci reached the status of Tang poetry in the Song Dynasty", which was simply ignorance. At the beginning of the birth of ci, it was only used by actors to sing and express their feelings at banquets, and its status in the minds of literati was extremely low. Ning He, the prime minister, was called "tune is" and burned his own manuscript. What's more, I only read ci when I go to the toilet ... Even after Su Shi's speech, the content that Ci can express has broken through the colorful field, but the social status is still not as good as that of poetry ... There are other answers, such as "standing on the shoulders of Tang poetry", "greater freedom" and "playing more widely" ... This is even more nonsense, but people who study poetry a little will not be so nonsense.

Secondly, from the stylistic point of view, poetry has been cultivated for thousands of years since the Tang Dynasty. Close to the body, such as the law, ancient body, such as four or five seven characters, Yuefu, Gexing and so on. Its wide pattern and high style reached its peak. Its theme is also pastoral, beyond the Great Wall, fable and romance. Ci began from eroticism to Su Xin, and Ci had a very big limitation in the Song Dynasty, that is, musicality. To satisfy its musicality, it is bound to be more restricted than poetry. Therefore, the cultural precipitation of the two is very different. How can the nascent Song Ci be compared with the prosperous Tang Poetry?

Third, it is even more impossible from the author's achievements. Although I write lyrics, I have to admit that there are superb poets among poets, but there are no superb poets among poets. Zhou Bangyan, known as "Lao Du in Ci", is naturally inferior to Du Fu; Su Xin is also a noun, but Su Dongpo's achievements in ci are not as high as his achievements in poetry, let alone Li Bai.

In a word, although Tang poetry and Song poetry are called literature of past dynasties, the achievements of Song poetry are far from those of Tang poetry. If we have to say when poetry can be called high, it can only be the Qing Dynasty when poetry flourished.
