What is the difference between a handmaid and a handmaid in the Bible?

Handmaid and handmaid are two female roles mentioned in the Old Testament, but their meanings and usage scenarios are slightly different.

Maid usually refers to a woman who holds a servant or servant position in a family or society. Their work scope includes taking care of family members and daily life, doing housework, doing manual labor and so on. The maid's duty is to obey the master's orders and try her best to complete the tasks assigned by the master, so they need to have the qualities of loyalty, diligence and obedience.

Maid refers to a young girl who serves her master in slave society. They are usually regarded as part of the property, and the owner can buy, sell, transfer or use them for other purposes at will. The duties of handmaids are mainly to serve slave owners, such as cooking, washing clothes, taking care of children and so on. Although handmaids must also abide by certain moral norms, their status is far lower than that of handmaids.

In a word, although there are similarities between maids and maids in some aspects, they are quite different in status, responsibility and social background.
