What is a poem?

Poetry inscription is an art form. In the blank space of Chinese painting, a poem is often written by the painter himself or others. The content of the poem either expresses the author's feelings, or talks about artistic sentiment, or sings the artistic conception of the picture.

Inscribed poems are a part of painting rules, which are expressed in painting through calligraphy, so that the beauty of poetry, calligraphy and painting are skillfully combined, reflecting and enriching each other, enhancing the formal aesthetic feeling of works and forming the artistic characteristics of Chinese painting. In addition, before the Song Dynasty, many poems praising paintings or expressing feelings for paintings were poems on paintings in a broad sense, although they were not poems on paintings.

Examples of painting poems:

"The peach blossoms outside the bamboo are three or two, and the warm ducks by the river are prophets. Artemisia sphaerocephala has short reed buds all over the ground, which is the time for puffer fish to go up. " This is a poem entitled Riverside Scenery written by Hui Chong, a good friend of Su Shi. Now Hui Chong's paintings have not been handed down, but this poem has been handed down through the ages and has become a household name.

Original text:

Two or three peach blossoms outside the bamboo forest and ducks in the water first noticed the warm spring.

The beach is covered with wormwood, asparagus is beginning to sprout, and puffer fish are preparing to swim upstream from the sea back to the river.

The geese fly north, like people who want to return to the north, but because of attachment, poor team.

Before flying to the north, I knew that it was snowy in the desert in the north, or the south that spent most of the Spring Festival in the south.

Translation:

There are two or three peach blossoms outside the bamboo forest, and the ducks playing in the water first notice the warming of the river in early spring. The beach is covered with Artemisia selengensis and reeds are sprouting short buds. At this time, the puffer fish will swim from the sea to the upper reaches of the river.

The geese flying from the north, like those who return to the north, are reluctant to go and are almost left behind. Thousands of miles away, I already know that the desert in the north is snowy, so it is better to stay in the spring in the south of the Yangtze River for half a month.
