Brief introduction of David the Giant.

David the Giant is the work of Michelangelo Meris da Caravaggio, which is now collected in the Bergas Art Museum in Rome, Italy. This work is considered as one of Caravaggio's most outstanding masterpieces. Because this painting belongs to the legacy of Cardinal Scipione Bergas, a great collector and admirer of Caravaggio, people don't know the exact time when this master created this painting. Some scholars speculate that this master painted in the residence of Rome at the invitation of the cardinal in 1606. Other scholars believe that this painting was painted by Caravaggio in the last months of his life. Therefore, this work, together with The Martyrdom of San Ossola, which is now in the headquarters of United Bank, is considered as one of the late works of the master.
