What is the theme of Dai Wangshu's Birds of Paradise?

This poem is very creative. With the help of the imaginary bird of paradise in the sky, the poet expressed his attachment to the lost paradise. The image of a bird of paradise is a symbol of longing, a noble and eternal image. Birds of paradise fly endlessly, which may be happiness or "slavery". The poet did not give a clear answer, giving people room for imagination to supplement it; In the reader's mind, the image characteristics of the bird of paradise "I want to search up and down" are more distinct. The first two sentences of this poem are about the bird of paradise eager to fly: "fly, fly, spring, summer, autumn and winter,/day and night, without stopping." This sentence uses a poem from Qu Yuan's famous lyric poem Lisao: "I make the wind birds soar, followed by day and night." Two sentences before the second festival describe the noble character of the bird of paradise: "Drink dew when you are thirsty, and drink dew when you are hungry." This sentence is based on the sentence "Drink Mulan in the morning and Qiuju in the evening" in Li Sao. The quotation is ingenious, without trace, adding a little elegance. This poem runs through the whole poem with questions, which leads to the uncertainty and fuzziness of the poem's connotation, gives readers room for thinking and aftertaste, and is the embodiment of the poem's "unspeakable meaning". However, the questions in the conclusion sentence are shocking, implying the desolation of Xanadu, full of regrets and worthy of being the voice of the world.
