Extended data:
Sowing and seedling raising
The seeds of Populus alba should be harvested immediately after they mature. After the fruit is harvested, it should be spread on the indoor cement floor to dry, with a thickness of 5-6 cm, and turned 5-6 times a day. After 2-3 days, all the fruits are cracked, then the seeds are whipped with wicker and screened, so that the seedlings can be sown with the set and grow neatly.
Spring sowing in the following year should be kept dry, closed and low temperature. Water should be poured on the soles of your feet before sowing. When the topsoil is slightly dry, fully level the topsoil of 2~3cm on the bed surface with a flat rake, and then drill holes. After sowing, cover it with fine sand for 2~3mm and suppress it slightly. Finally, water with a fine-eye watering can, and then keep the seedbed moist until the seedlings emerge.
The other method is also very simple. Water the seedbed before sowing. When the water infiltration is almost complete, sow the seeds on the bed surface, and then cover them with the screened "three soils" (1 fine sand, 1 fine soil, 1 decomposed farmyard manure).
