1. Create situations and stimulate interest in oral communication
We know that interest is the best teacher. No matter what a person does, as long as he is interested, he will have consciousness. The same goes for oral communication training. Stimulating their interest is equivalent to stimulating their consciousness, which is half the battle. Creating situations is an important way to stimulate students' interest in oral communication. There are many ways to create situations.
First of all, the teacher's vivid language can create an engaging situation, filling students' brains with magical imagination and making them unable to stop. The rich imagination makes them want to say something and strive to say it, such as, " In the teaching of "The Stubborn Little Red Army", students are asked to close their eyes. The desolate and difficult voice is accompanied by the teacher's vivid language description, so that the scene of bravely facing difficulties and not fearing sacrifice when marching across the grass is reappeared in the students' minds. The students are like Being immersed in the situation and rich imagination makes students compete to express their opinions, changing "I want to say" to "I want to say". Reading teaching becomes lively, students' oral communication skills are trained, and students' creative imagination ability is cultivated.
Secondly, the use of modern teaching media creates an immersive scene for students so that students have something to say. The use of modern teaching media is an important means of creating situations. Its intuitive image helps us vividly reproduce situations and achieve effects that other teaching methods cannot achieve. For example, in the teaching "Whales", I used the computer screen to project animated images of toothed whales and baleen whales, and I could clearly see how toothed whales and baleen whales breathe. The students were very interested and rushed to introduce how they breathe. They spoke vividly and their oral communication skills were cultivated.
In addition, carry out a variety of activities, introduce performances, games, role-playing, etc. into the classroom to create a lively language environment and increase interest in oral communication. For example, the fable "The Thousands of Thousands" is very interesting and story-telling. After teaching, I asked the students to continue writing the story "What will happen after Mr. Nan Guo escapes?" After writing, I revised it, and then asked the students to tell the story on the podium to see who could write it well and tell it well. The students personally participated in storytelling, were particularly motivated and could tell the stories very well.
2. Enrich the content of speech so that students have something to say
(1) Closely connect with life practice and conduct oral communication training. Activities and interactions are the source of development. It is precisely the needs of real life that oral communication training will eventually return to the application of real life. Therefore, real life is the best classroom for oral communication training. Teachers should be closely connected with real life and conduct verbal communication training. For example, when guests come to your home, how do you receive them; how do you meet new friends; how do you ask for help when you encounter difficulties... These are all small scenes in life. Teachers can let students perform and re-enact situations for oral communication training.
(2) Carry out various activities to enrich students’ lives. Oral communication training can be combined with various activities carried out by schools. For example, our school holds Reading Festival reading competitions, story-telling competitions, literary evenings, ancient poetry memorization competitions, etc. every year. These are good platforms for training students' oral communication skills. In addition, I also actively carry out various activities, such as asking students to go to the podium to recite poetry, tell a joke, or say a famous quote, read their best compositions, or talk about the happiest things they have done recently in comprehensive Chinese classes. etc. This approach enriches students' lives, not only accumulates speaking materials, but also stimulates interest in speaking and activates thinking, so that students have something to say and have something to say.
(3) Carry out oral communication training in reading teaching. The text is a model for students to learn and accumulate language, and it can also become the content of students' oral training. Many texts are very story-based, and some can be used for oral communication training through role-playing. For example, playing the role of a small tour guide, explainer, or salesman, introducing a certain scenic spot, explaining certain knowledge, or a certain product to people. This not only makes the teaching activities lively and interesting, but also trains students' oral communication skills.
