(1) Ancient poems. Also known as ancient style, it is a poetic style inherited from the Han, Wei and Six Dynasties. Each sentence is in the form of five words (five ancient), seven words (seven ancient) and miscellaneous words. Because there were many Yuefu poems in the Han and Wei Dynasties, some people wrote many Yuefu poems and "ancient styles" in the Tang Dynasty, which were actually ancient poems. For example, the trip to the East Gate, the trip to orphans, the trip to gynecological diseases, elegies, ancient dam songs, yangko and so on. However, many poems written in the Tang Dynasty imitate this style, such as Du Fu's Autumn Wind Breaking the Cottage, Bai Juyi's Song of Eternal Sorrow and Pipa Xing, all of which belong to ancient poetry.
(2) Modern poetry. It is a poetic style formed only in the Tang Dynasty. After the Tang Dynasty, regular poems and quatrains were generally called modern poems. Compared with ancient poetry, it has a certain pattern in terms of sentence number, word number, level tone and rhyme, so it is also called metrical poetry. There are two main types of modern poetry.
1, rhymes. Named for its rigorous meter. With eight sentences and four rhymes as the fixed framework, the two couplets in the middle must be opposite. The second, fourth, sixth and eighth sentences rhyme. The first sentence can be taken or not. It is divided into five words (five rhymes) and seven words (seven rhymes). Any poem with more than ten sentences is called rhyme. So,
2. quatrains, also known as quatrains, quatrains, and quatrains, are like four sentences "cut" from regular poetry, hence the name. There are certain requirements for fluency and rhyme, mainly five words and seven words.
