Appreciation of the original text of Du Fu's "Quatrain"
Quatrain is a Chinese poetry genre that became popular in the Tang Dynasty and is a form of modern poetry. The following is the original text and appreciation of one of Du Fu's widely circulated quatrains, welcome to read!
Quatrains
Author: Du Fu Era: Tang
Two orioles sang in the green willows, and a row of egrets ascended to the blue sky.
The window contains the snow of Qianqiu in the Xiling Mountains, and the ship thousands of miles away from Dongwu is moored at the door.
Translation: Looking from the window, the snow that has not melted for thousands of years on Xiling seems to be right in front of us; ships that have traveled thousands of miles and returned from Soochow are moored on the river outside the door.
Appreciation 1
Two orioles are singing in the green willows, and a row of egrets are flying in the sky. Two orioles are singing, and there is a sound. ?A row of egrets rising into the sky? This is a behavior and an action. One horizontally and one vertically, "two" and "one" face each other; one horizontally and one vertically, a very bright natural scenery unfolds. Then Du Fu talked about "the window contains the snow of Xiling for thousands of years". My window contains the snow accumulated in Minshan Mountain for thousands of years. The Minshan Mountain to the west is a Minshan Mountain with thousands of years of snow. ?A ship thousands of miles long is parked at my door. A ship thousands of miles long is parked at my door. This forms a welcome and a send-off, welcoming the snow-covered mountains into your field of vision and sending the boat downstream. So the "Wanli Ship" can pass, which also shows that the "Anshi Rebellion" has come to an end and is close to being quelled. At this time, the ship can also pass, and business people can come and go on this river. So a poem like this is very beautiful in itself, and in addition, its four sentences are all antithetical. Quatrains have been around since the Six Dynasties. After the Tang Dynasty, quatrains have become a very mature art. Many of our famous poems use quatrains. Quatrains are four sentences. The four sentences often either do not contrast with each other, or the first two sentences of the four sentences describe the scene but the last two lyric sentences do not match each other, or the first two sentences do not conflict with each other and the last two sentences conflict with each other. So now his poem has four sentences. It can be said that it is a very neat and carefully written poem. There was a time when Du Fu wrote a poem that made people unable to stop until his words were astonishing, so he perfected this poem over and over again.
Appreciation 2
This poem was written by Du Fu when he returned to the thatched cottage in the early spring of the second year of Guangde (764). It is a masterpiece of Du Fu's poems describing scenery. Four lines of poetry, one scene, two pairs of sticks, the writing style is very delicate and elegant, but when read, it does not feel carved at all, it is very natural and smooth. This poem is like a gorgeous and vivid painting: orioles, green willows, egrets, blue sky, rivers, and snow-capped mountains. The colors are elegant and harmonious. The images are moving and still. The perspective goes from near to far, and then from far to near, giving people a sense of wonder. A feeling that is both delicate and spacious. The clever use of its sense of space and time makes people feel that it is both before their eyes and thousands of miles away; it is both a momentary perception and connects the past and present and even the future; it is both realistic and full of imagination. This short four-sentence poem leads readers from the landscape in front of them to the vast space and long time, and into the philosophical interest in history and life. "Ting Zhai Poetry Talk" quotes Han Zicangyun: "The ancients used color words, and they must be used appropriately. You can see 'yellow' above 'cui', and 'white' above 'green'. This is reasonable." "Du Sui": "These four poems were written after I moved into the thatched cottage, intending to live here as a guest until I grow old, and describe myself in this way. The third one is self-adaptive." "Poetry of the Tang and Song Dynasties": "Although it is not formal, it is true. "Swan song."
Appreciation 3
The word "Han" indicates that the poet is looking out of the window, and the scene seems to be a picture embedded in the window frame. These two sentences show the poet's comfort and joy. "Qianqiu Snow" means the length of time, and "Wanli Ship" means the breadth of space. The poet is in the thatched cottage, thinking about thousands of years, seeing thousands of miles, how broad-minded! ?Xiling? is the Minshan Mountain in the southwest of Chengdu. ?Soochow? During the Three Kingdoms period, Sun Quan established his country as the capital in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. The country was named Wu, also known as Soochow. This refers to the Jiangnan area in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River. This quatrain is composed of one sentence for one scene and two pairs of contrasts. It is written in an exquisite and elegant way, but it reads very naturally and smoothly, without any feeling of being sculpted at all. Because what is consistent is the inner emotion of the poet. When he first wrote about the spring scenery in the thatched cottage, his mood was peaceful; but as his eyes wandered, the scenery changed, and the river boats appeared, his nostalgia was touched. The four scenes fully express the poet's complex and meticulous inner thoughts. Su Shi once said: "Shaoling Hanmo Intangible Painting", this poem is like a gorgeous and vivid landscape banner: in the center of the painting are several green weeping willows, with yellow orioles singing gracefully on the branches; the upper half of the painting is green In the clear sky, a line of egrets are reflected in the blue sky; the mountains in the distance can be seen flickering, and the top of the mountain is still covered with snow that has not melted for many years; half of the thatched house is exposed nearby, and there is a big river in front of the door, and boats from far away are moored on the water. Judging from the color and lines, the author dyed two goose-yellow dots into a emerald green, and drew a white line diagonally in the light blue space. Dots, lines and surfaces are organically combined, with bright and harmonious colors. It is both a momentary perception and a connection between the past and present and even the future; it is both realistic and full of imagination.
