Definition of heroic couplet poems
Heroic antithesis refers to two lines of poetry that rhyme with each other and contain five iambic parts, which are mostly used in epics. In The Story of a Good Woman, Chaucer used iambic pentameter rhyming antithesis for the first time, which was the later heroic antithesis. In Canterbury Tales, Chaucer also used heroic couplets freely, which is the first time in the whole history of English literature.
