"The Millennium ancient forest on the edge of the village was once brilliant."

Author: Xu Zhaoxu

Everyone's life will have some people and things that are hard to give up. For me, what touches my heart most is that the Millennium ancient forest that was once brilliant at the edge of the village will never be erased in my heart. Two Millennium-old Castanopsis carlesii trees, one female and one male, stand on the back of Mount Ji in the east of the village. They are symbols of the village. The trunk is tens of meters high, more than two meters in diameter and six or seven meters in circumference. Only four or five people can be together. Countless branches support the crown of nearly 500-600 square meters, so many leaves are stacked one after another, leaving no gap, even if it rains heavily, it will not leak for a while. In spring, when Milla-like pale yellow Castanopsis sclerophylla blooms, wild bees flock to the trees, and the buzzing sound can be heard from a distance. Wild wasps will also come, flying between two bitter trees and drilling between green bitter leaves. They are collectively investigating, repeatedly experiencing and seriously discussing, and finally determining the best nesting site. But no matter how dangerous and mysterious it was, it was still stabbed by brave children wearing monkey heads and cotton gloves, wrapped all over and holding long bamboo poles.

Every autumn, it is a season of suffering and maturity, and the female plant has suffered a lot and produced numerous fruits; The trunk of the male tree is taller than that of the female tree, which shows that the male tree is tall and upright, with indomitable spirit, but few and small pains. Their sex is not only shown in the trunk, but also shows the characteristics of hermaphroditism, which fully shows the nature of biological sex. They stood high on the back of Mount Ji, like the dim back of their ancestors, watching the prosperous and peaceful future of the descendants of the village day and night. Its embrace not only gave me a happy paradise when I was a child, but also inspired me to fight high; At the same time, it also witnessed the Millennium changes of the village.

Near the south of Kukui, there is a lush Millennium Gu Song on Lailong Mountain. The plants in Gu Song are tens of meters high, so they can support each other. When I was a child, we used a wooden knife to collect its golden and shiny pine roots for lighting. In the dark night, dozens of children lit bright pine roots and flocked across the hall, through the alleys, and walked around like lanterns. In the early morning of spring, the twittering magpies opened. They shuttled through branches, thatch, feathers and cloth and were busy building nests. They are so serious, careful and meticulous. After several days of hard work, their comfort zone has actually been established, and the village is very lively. Magpies chirp and jump every morning, calling friends, and whoever is happy will fall in love and make love. After several days of mate selection, there are pairs of magpies flying around. Soon, they lay eggs in the nest, hatch their young and raise the next generation happily. People looked up at their new neighbors coming from the crown of the Millennium Gu Song, and looked at the bird's nest as big as a laundry list, whispering to each other, picking up pebbles and playing with birds from time to time!

There are dozens of thousand-year-old camphor trees behind the ancestral temple in the northwest of Kushu village, which is considered old-fashioned in the village. Each tree has a diameter of two or three meters and a circumference of five or six meters. Some trees are hollow, some are split, some are lying sideways, and some are covered with thorns and vines, climbing each other and forming an antique green Great Wall behind the village. Some trees are still tied with yellow paper, and incense has been inserted on the ground. It can be seen that the villagers have great respect for these Millennium camphor trees. Gods Pray for it to bless the villagers' health and happiness. Every spring, the whole village is immersed in the warm fragrance of camphor trees. This is a paradise for children and birds! In front of this green barrier is the ancestral hall, in which there is a school. Every day after school, children run here. They use tree roots sticking out of the ground as tables, kneel on the ground to do homework, chat, play house and play hide and seek. They didn't leave here reluctantly until their parents called in the evening. The restless squirrels in the tree jump up and down all day, chasing each other and sometimes making a cooing sound, which attracts many squirrels to come to feed and play. What is more lively is that pigeons occupy the magpie's nest. It is said that the turtledove, though small, is the fiercest bird among birds. He didn't work hard, but invaded the magpie's nest. When the turtledove stood in the magpie's nest, several magpies had to chirp and rush to their nests, but before they got close, they were severely pecked by the turtledove and had to hover in the tree. There are also some birds who are wronged! Then attracted a group of magpies, they twittered around in circles and rushed to the Bird's Nest from time to time, but never got into the Bird's Nest. So twittering around for a long time, maybe it's a rampant turtledove! Always eyeing, jumping around and standing in the nest. Seeing that the magpie could not compete with the turtledove, perhaps under the persuasion of relatives and friends, it disappeared and built a new nest. This one? Pigeons take the nest? The war is over.

Without trees, the land will lose its soul. In my eyes, the two tall and straight Millennium bitter trees on the back of Lushan Mountain in the east of the village, the Millennium ancient pine tree in Longshan and the Millennium camphor tree behind the ancestral hall are all valuable to my village. Even if it is out of aesthetic or psychological needs, it should be kept forever. At that time, people walked out of the small south gate from the county seat and saw at a glance that there was a piece of green jade inlaid at the foot of Nanshan in Pujiang Basin, especially these two bitter trees, which were greener and brighter than other trees. At the same time, they also propped up the public space around the village. This is a quiet place for the villagers to rest and chat. Especially in the busy farming season, tired people go out of their homes, come to the village entrance and sit in the shade to have a rest. Pass cigarettes to each other, have a sip of tea, exchange farming experience, talk about local information, tell heroic stories and express their lofty sentiments. Those thousand-year-old trees not only give people shade and comfort, but also provide people with natural benches and supine chairs, with huge roots sticking out of the ground. According to this doyen, this is a rich legacy left by our ancestors and will last forever. Throughout the ages, some people tried to cut down these precious ancient trees through various relationships, but some charitable elders in the village stood up and stopped them in order to give future generations a comfortable resting place. Especially in the twenty-third year of the Republic of China, there was a drought, crops failed, and villagers dug wild vegetables and scraped bark to satisfy their hunger. The village chief sees it in his eyes and suffers in his heart. He intends to cut down these ancient trees to solve the villagers' famine. But the elders in the village led the villagers to stand up, and everyone unanimously demanded: I would rather eat grass roots and bark than damage this merit and destroy the property of my ancestors. ? The purpose of elders is to leave their ancestors behind, so that future generations can have a place to communicate and sit in the shade after finishing farm work.
