What's the difference between a seven-character poem and a seven-character quatrain?

Let me briefly talk about the similarities between the two:

1. The same genus: Seven Rhymes and Seven Rhymes are modern poems, which is what we usually call metrical poems.

2. Consistency in rhyme and tone: Conjunction rhymes, and it must be the same rhyme to the end, and it is not allowed to change rhyme or adjacent rhyme. Except for the first sentence. The first sentence has the freedom to pledge or not. If you pledge, you can pledge in the rhyme. These seven verses are consistent with the seven laws.

3. They all follow the format of modern poetry, and the principles of flattening, sticking and trying to save are the same.

Secondly, let's look at the difference between the two:

1. The number of words is different. Four verses are fixed as four sentences with 28 words, and seven verses are fixed as eight sentences with 56 words. This directly leads to the difference in content capacity.

2. The flexibility of expression is different. This is obvious. Quatrains are the simplest form of poetry. Although the two are close, the seven quatrains are half less than the seven sentences, and the bondage is greatly reduced. There is no doubt that there is more freedom and less scruples in lyrical expression than in the seven wonders. However, composition and layout are often considered in seven sentences, and only two couplets in the middle are already dancing in chains.

3. quatrains are also called abridged sentences. Formally speaking, the quatrains can be regarded as the remaining two paragraphs after the seven-method truncation, or the remaining two paragraphs after the middle four sentences are truncated. The seven laws can also be regarded as the continuation of the seven sections or developed from the middle.

4. I often practice quatrains in my writing, and the poems in the right style are easy to be wordy. The Seven Wonders should be concise and contain the most information with the least words, so the Seven Wonders are often open. Because it is short, it doesn't matter how it is organized. There are many spontaneous works. The standard of connecting the bad quatrains is only a way of appreciation, not a method of poetry. The seven laws are stricter, more standardized and generally convergent. Quatrains are not afraid to write in detail, while metrical poems tend to lengthen the content that is not so long and have their own forms.

For example, Xu Hun, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, wrote "Jinling Nostalgia":

Decadent music "Flowers in the Back Garden of Yushu" came together with Chen's fate; The lookout party in Jingyang Palace was filled with empty space. The cemetery trees in the cemetery cover the graves of many officials in previous dynasties; High and low young crops filled the palaces of the Six Dynasties.

The snail spreads Yun Ni's wings, and it rains for a while and clears up for a while; The finless porpoise added fuel to the flames in the river. The night was deep and a cold wind came. When heroes go to luxury, there are only green hills like Luo Zhong.

Xie Zhen, a famous poet in Ming Dynasty, said that the two couplets in the middle are dispensable, and it is best to delete them: if these two couplets are deleted, there will be no white quatrains. (Four Poems)

Does it make sense? Judging from the content, there are indeed some chicken ribs. Made a good start, directly wrote Jinling, closely related to the theme of nostalgia, quite rich in historical vicissitudes. When it comes to couplets, it still means the same thing, but with a more specific image. The description of the neck couplet is even more suspected of making up the number, which seems to be contrary to the artistic conception of the whole poem, out of tune, and the writing goes astray. The last two sentences finally got back to the point. After a big circle, the two couplets in the middle did not give birth to brilliance, but they broke the refreshing mouth at the beginning. Dig out the middle four sentences, and the whole poem will be in high spirits immediately.

Decadent music "Flowers in the Back Garden of Yushu" came together with Chen's fate; The lookout party in Jingyang Palace was filled with empty space.

When heroes go to luxury, there are only green hills like Luo Zhong.

Quatrains and metrical poems are often so embarrassing.

5. The most obvious difference lies in the requirement of confrontation. Seven verses can be played, not played, and the two couplets in the middle of the seven methods must be played. The world is too dirty to be good at prosodic poems, because only a few dozen of his prosodic poems are half wrong or even wrong all over. For example, his masterpiece "Night Sleeping under the Niuzhu Mountain":

Looking at the Old Times from "Night Sleeping under Niuzhu Mountain"

Lipper

On the west side of the river this night, there was not a cloud in the whole blue sky.

I looked at the moon on the deck and thought of the old general Xie in vain.

I have poems; I can read. He hears others, but it's not mine.

Tomorrow I will raise my sail and leave leaves behind me.

As mentioned above, all rules and regulations are harmonious, but couplets and necklaces are not antagonistic. There is no need to treat it as an antique. The same is true of the Seven Laws. This is a symbolic difference in form between the two.

The above five points are not only the seven methods and seven unique skills, but also the difference between the five methods and five unique skills. Method, absolute difference, in general.
