Brief introduction of Jiangsu Yangtze River Bridge
The successful completion of the Yangtze River Bridge is an important achievement and powerful witness of Jiangsu's social and economic development, a remarkable symbol of Jiangsu's brilliant economic achievements for more than 60 years, and a strong support for Jiangsu's and even the national economic development. After the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, a highway-railway bridge, was completed at the end of 1968 after nine years of national efforts. After the reform and opening up, Jiangsu began to plan and build a river-crossing bridge, and began to enter the substantive construction stage in the 1960s. Jiangyin Yangtze River Highway Bridge, Nanjing Second Yangtze River Bridge, Runyang Yangtze River Highway Bridge, Nanjing Third Yangtze River Bridge, Sutong Yangtze River Highway Bridge, Taizhou Yangtze River Highway Bridge, Nanjing Fourth Yangtze River Bridge, Chongqi Bridge and Nanjing Dashengguan Bridge were successively built. The construction of Jiangsu River-crossing Bridge has embarked on a road of independent innovation, created a number of the best in the world, made great contributions to bridge construction in China, and made China a bridge power in the world. During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, Jiangsu plans to build four river-crossing bridges (Zhenjiang Yangtze River Bridge and Nanjing Yangtze River Fifth Bridge).
