Drol Bodhisattva (Sanskrit: Tārā, meaning "eye", "wonderful eye", "pupil", "extreme", "salvation"; Tibetan: Drolma, meaning " "Save"), also translated as Dorothy, Dora Buddha, Tara, Save Buddha. Buddhism believes that she is the female Bodhisattva who is the incarnation of Amitabha and Guanyin Bodhisattva. Therefore, sometimes scriptures and classics are also called Dora Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Dora Avalokitesvara.
Tara Bodhisattva is a traditional Chinese translation. It was directly transliterated from Sanskrit into Chinese during the Tang and Song Dynasties. Since the Sanskrit "Tārā" contains multiple meanings, the translation conforms to the "five different meanings". According to one of the rules of "translation", "Duo Luo (Bodhisattva)" is directly transliterated instead of free translation. Master Xuanzang, Master Fu Kong, Master Fa Xian, etc. are all translated as Duo Luo Bodhisattva.
This translation is still used by the Buddhist circles in Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam. However, due to the influence of the Tibetan Buddhist scriptures in the Chinese cultural circle, fewer people use this translation, and more people use "Tara". ” or “Save the Mother Buddha.”
Some people think that in the Chinese translation of the word Dora Bodhisattva, the person "Bodhisattva" is used as a title, which is unique to the Chinese version. In fact, in the "Tibetan Tripitaka", "Bodhisattva" is also used. ” person as an example of the title “Tara”. It is said that Baiduoluo Bodhisattva and Duoluo Bodhisattva are embodied by the two tears of Guanyin Bodhisattva.
Dora Bodhisattva is a great savior Bodhisattva. She sits on a white lotus seat. According to her original oath, she is the transformed incarnation of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva who shed tears when she was sad because of her compassion for all living beings in the world. Therefore, is the most compassionate.
"The Origin of Dora Bodhisattva" says: Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva has saved countless sentient beings before immeasurable kalpas. However, one day, the Bodhisattva used her wisdom eyes to observe the six paths and found that the number of suffering sentient beings had not decreased. Suddenly he felt sad, his eyes shed tears, and the tears turned into lotus flowers, which turned into Dorado Bodhisattvas, and then twenty-one Dorado Bodhisattvas were transformed. "Ode to the Duoluo Bodhisattva": The twenty-one Duoluo Bodhisattva is the Buddha mother manifested by the different undertakings of the Duoluo Bodhisattva, and the Duoluo Bodhisattva is the collective collection of all the merits of the twenty-one Duoluo Bodhisattva. The appearance of Dora Bodhisattva is one head and two arms, each holding a lotus and a seal. The body is jade green, slender and solemn.
The left hand holds a blooming lotus. There are two lotus flowers on the lotus, one is not open and the other is half open, which means that the future, present, and past three lives are all relying on the Dharma. fulfill the vow. The Green Savior Dora Bodhisattva wears a small five-buddha crown on his head, is extremely solemn and decorated with jewelry, and his body emits rainbow light. Her legs are stretched downward, which means that she is always ready to save all sentient beings. Her right hand is placed on her right knee, with the palm facing outward, which is the wish seal and holding the lotus, which is the wish to give the lotus to the world. Dora Bodhisattva is the most compassionate and beautiful Bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism, and is also another extraordinary manifestation of Guanyin Bodhisattva. There are twenty-one Dorado Bodhisattvas in the Tibetan Secret. The twenty-one Dorado Bodhisattvas are in order: Fenxun Dorado Bodhisattva, Mighty Dorado Bodhisattva, Jinyan Dorado Bodhisattva, Topknot Zunsheng Dorado Bodhisattva, The Bodhisattva Hunyin Chitara, the Bodhisattva Victory of the Three Realms, the Bodhisattva Destroying the Demons, the Bodhisattva Destroying the Demon Army, the Bodhisattva Three Jewels Taro, the Bodhisattva Subduing the Demons, the Bodhisattva Jie Etara, the Bodhisattva Jixiangtara, Lieyan Taro Bodhisattva, Shengmei Taro Bodhisattva, Great Silence Taro Bodhisattva, Bright Mind and Hum Sound Taro Bodhisattva, Victory of Three Realms Taro Bodhisattva, Disinfection Taro Bodhisattva, Eliminate Suffering Taro Bodhisattva, Eliminate Epidemic Taro Bodhisattva, Grant many achievements Luo Bodhisattva. The twenty-one Dora Bodhisattvas have six different body colors, namely white, red, blue, yellow, green, and black.
Tora Bodhisattva and Baiduoluo Bodhisattva
The images of Duoluo Bodhisattva and Baiduoluo Bodhisattva are very similar. The obvious difference is that her body is green and she holds a lotus in her left hand. It is different from Baitara Bodhisattva sitting in lotus position, but his left leg is crossed, his right leg is stretched downward, and his steps are on a lotus. The difference between Dora Bodhisattva and Bai Dora Bodhisattva is that her face has two eyes. Worshiping her can relieve eight kinds of sufferings, namely, lion trouble, elephant trouble, fire trouble, prison, thief trouble, and non-human trouble. Therefore, Dorado Bodhisattva is also called the Eight Sufferings Savior Dorado Bodhisattva.
People always turn to her for help, so she is also called the Savior of Dora Bodhisattva. Baitara Bodhisattva has one eye each on her hands and feet, and three eyes on her face, so she is also called the Seven-Eyed Girl. Her image is that she wears a flower crown on her head, towering upright, with large rings on her ears, her upper body exposed, her armpits draped diagonally, and her feet sitting cross-legged on a blooming rosette. Holding a crooked-necked lotus on the left hand and the palm of the right hand outward, it expresses willingness to help people solve their problems. The image is elegant and beautiful. "Green" is the color of spring, representing the endless growth of all things and containing opportunities for new life.
"Du" means to save oneself and save others. "If you want to be established, you can establish others." "If you want to be established, you can achieve others." It’s the essence of helping people.
"Mother" is virtue. It uses the virtuous way of motherhood and the original nature to express the tolerance of the world.
