Liaodong Ge Zheng

Three Kingdoms: Sima Yi

Heaven and earth opened, and the sun and moon shone again.

Bi Li is far away from you when you meet an international conference.

Will sweep away the filth and return to their hometown.

Eliminate Wan Li, a total of eight famine.

Retire after success, and wait for Wuyang.

The heavens and the earth opened, and Cao Wei replaced Han, just like the sun and the moon re-radiated. The emperor gave me an excellent opportunity to use my sword against the distance. Sweep the traitor Gongsun Yuan and pass by my lovely hometown.

Destroy all enemies in the territory, but also destroy the people who have suffered endlessly, in order to achieve stability and peace. After that, I will resign and wait for the emperor to let me live in Wuyang.

Extended data

This poem was written in the second year of Jingchu. At the age of 60, before Gongsun Yuan's expedition to Liaodong, the then emperor Wei Mingdi personally sent him to the expedition.

And ordered his younger brother Sima Fu and his son Sima Shi to escort him back to his hometown of wen county, which is now Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. I wrote this poem because I met my folks in my hometown. I haven't seen them for a long time.

From this poem, we can roughly guess his state of mind before the expedition. At that time, Wei Mingdi wanted to explore Liaodong and Gongsun Yuan, but there was no consensus inside and outside the imperial court.

So Emperor Wei summoned Sima Yi to discuss the matter. According to Zijian, the expedition to Liaodong lasted for four thousand miles, and everyone was worried about the shortage of 40 thousand soldiers.
