Translation and interpretation
The prairie where the Chile people live is
at the foot of the Yinshan Mountains.
The sky is like a yurt where herders live,
covering the vast land.
The sky is blue,
The grassland is endless,
Whenever the strong wind blows the grass down, groups of cattle and sheep appear. Appreciation
This is a folk song sung by the Chile people. It sings about the beautiful scenery of the prairie and expresses the Chile people’s passion for their hometown and life. The first six sentences of the poem cover the plains, mountains, sky and fields, covering all directions. The picture is majestic and magnificent, expressing the broad-mindedness and bold and unrestrained character of the Chile nation. "Cows and sheep are seen when the wind blows through the grass" is the highlight of the whole text. The three verbs "blowing", "low" and "seeing" turn the scenery from static to dynamic, depicting the grand prairie full of vitality and atmosphere. Magnificent features. Homework questions
What other scenery do you think should be on the prairie? Please start drawing. Interesting reading
Where is Chilechuan?
Do you know where Chilechuan is? Some people think it is in Mayichuan, Shanxi, and some people think it is in Hangjin Banner. The movie "Wrangler" moved Chilechuan to Gansu Province. These are all because I love this song so much that I don't hesitate to "go against" historical facts. In fact, the answer has been given to us in "Cele Song": "Cele River, at the foot of Yinshan Mountain". Yinshan is the Daqingshan area (now near Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia), where the Chile people once thrived.
