Respond to the call of biblical poetry

The Lord saw that man's wickedness on earth was great, and all his thoughts were evil all day long. God regrets that he created human beings on the earth ... (Gen. 6: 6). The word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying, I made Saul king, but I repented. (1 Sam. XV: 10- 1 1)。 "Nineveh people believe in God, and everyone is far away from their evil ... so God looks at their actions ... and regrets not bringing them the disaster he said." (Take 3: 5- 10). As we all know, the reason for regret is that people do one thing wholeheartedly, but they didn't expect such a bad result. I always feel that I can't let things go on like this, so I have to change my policy and do the opposite. Such regrets are human nature. Although people will try their best to make things better, people are unpredictable and the development of things is hard to predict. Sometimes it is inevitable to regret what you have done. However, it is unreasonable and illogical for the Lord, who knows well and foresees everything, to regret what he has done. We are convinced that God knows everything. Although we dare not criticize, we think we must have knowingly committed a crime. Why on earth does the Lord regret it? In the Old Testament, "regret" (pronounced niham in Hebrew or Retry in English) * * * appeared about 35 to 40 times. The vast majority refers to the Lord God's regret, or the Lord God will never regret it again after making up his mind (sa 1. 15: 29; Poetry ο: 4; Pessimists (for the future) 4: 28, etc. When we read many scriptures, we mentioned that the Lord God is firm and he will swear that he will never regret it. I have read many times the scriptures that the Lord God really regretted and changed his mind. I think these are unacceptable contradictions. Of course, we believe that the word of God recorded in the Bible is correct. So, where is our misunderstanding of "God's regret"? In the Bible, when it comes to the repentance of the Lord, it is impossible to have nothing to do with human sin. Our God is just, he can't show his mercy endlessly, especially when people allow evil to indulge, God has to continue his consistent justice and execute his punishment. However, our God is kind, and he doesn't want to punish others. His heart is often sad for people's sins. The word "regret" in the scripture should actually be translated as "sadness". On the one hand, when people's behavior reaches the point of lawlessness, people have to accept punishment; But on the other hand, God wants everyone to be saved, not to sink alone. So between these two situations, God is really "sad". (Many versions of the Bible have corrected this mistranslation, such as the new international version (NIV) and the newly revised standard version (NRSV), the new Chinese version, the modern Chinese version, the Lu Zhongzhen version and so on. Although in some cases, "sadness" is indeed misunderstood as "regret", on the other hand, God does try to regret, that is, when people turn from criminal situations, God should have punished them, but because of their repentance, God forgave them, and God repented and stopped punishing them. For example, the city of Nineveh recorded in the Book of Jonah, because people there are willing to turn back from the evil road through the words preached by the prophet Jonah. In this way, it is reasonable that God's special favor to people, rather than punishing them for disasters. This is the "repentance of the Lord" recorded in the Old Testament. Looking closely at the New Testament era, we are not all damned sinners. However, because of our faith in Jesus Christ and the truth he preached, God was saved and won eternal life, not extinction. This is exactly the same as in the old testament, when the Lord cares for you because of regret. Calvin believes that God never regrets. What God does to people is unchangeable. When people change with the development of things, they will feel that God has changed. When the ship is sailing against the wind, it feels very bad. When it turns around, it feels smooth. In fact, the direction of the wind has never changed.

Because the Bible is made by people, it is a bit old-fashioned! A d is not strange!
