Prose: Appreciating lotus flowers in the rain

Text/Yao Changxia

I like lotus because it is one of the top ten famous flowers in China. Lotus is also known as lotus, hibiscus, green ring, jade ring, whip rong and water hibiscus. People often call the unopened flower buds lotus and the bloomed flowers as water hibiscus. It is known as "coming out of the silt without being stained, and cleaning the water." He is known as "Ripple but not evil" and "The Gentleman among Flowers". Throughout the ages, lotus has always been favored by literati. There are countless poems praising it, and it is also an extremely popular painting subject for painters.

Every year when midsummer comes, I will go to the nearby National Garden and Sui and Tang Botanical Gardens to enjoy the lotus flowers. No matter it is sunny, rainy or high temperature, it cannot stop my enthusiasm and determination to go out and enjoy the lotus flowers.

I remember that in July of that year, just after the children had gone on summer vacation, my mother and her two nieces came to live with me from their hometown in the countryside. As an aunt, I rarely go back to my hometown during the year. It is rare for the children to come all the way, especially the eldest niece who is well-educated and well-behaved. I feel particularly fond of her, so I discussed with my mother to take advantage of the fact that the weather is not too hot on the weekends. The two children went to the National Garden to play together. Not only was it a big place, but it also had dense trees, large lawns, and good air. There is a large artificial lake with a beautiful scenery, and there are large lotus flowers in full bloom in the water.

The weather was nice that morning, with a cool breeze. We had breakfast at home, packed up our things, and happily went out with our mother and two nieces. Walk across the spacious asphalt road and take a bus there. We came to the China National Garden. After entering the park gate, we saw many tourists. Some were strolling, some were practicing boxing, some were dancing, and there was also a beautiful little girl playing the melodious cucurbit flute. We had no time to stop and headed straight to the artificial lake.

Coming to the lotus pond, looking from a distance, the green lotus leaves are endless, extending to the distance where the water and the sky meet. Under the sunlight, the lotus flowers look particularly bright and bright red. A faint fragrance floated out from the river pond with the wind, which immediately made people feel refreshed. As the breeze blew, the lotus leaves danced cheerfully. This reminds me of a poem by Yang Wanli of the Southern Song Dynasty, "The lotus leaves that touch the sky are infinitely green, and the lotus that reflects the sun is uniquely red."

"On a summer day, a child's face changes at every turn." Just when we were having fun, the sky suddenly changed. Just now, the sky was clear and white clouds were floating. After a while, gray-black clouds quietly spread out in the sky, covering up the sun.

"It's going to rain. Find a place quickly," my mother said.

"Let's go! Let's go!" I said in my heart. I like to enjoy lotus flowers in the rain. The rain hits the lotus leaves, which are so green that they must be a unique sight.

It was too late, but soon, a gust of wind blew by, followed by lightning and thunder.

"It's raining!" the eldest niece shouted, and we all ran to the pavilion to find a place to sit and take shelter from the rain. After a while, a heavy rain started falling.

Looking from under the pavilion, I saw a dense rain curtain covering the lotus leaves, forming round water drops on the lotus leaves, like crystal clear pearls. Rolling in the green emerald plate, it gradually condenses into a crystal ball, swaying left and right in the lotus leaf. A gust of wind blew by, and the crystal ball finally poured down from the lotus leaf, fell into the lotus pond, and splashed up a string of water drops.

The rain in summer comes and goes at the drop of a hat. It rained for about forty minutes, the rain stopped, the clouds dispersed, and the sun showed its smiling face again. In the lotus pond after the rain, the lotus leaves have been washed by the rainwater, like emerald green plates frozen on the water. And those lotus leaves that are higher than the water surface emerge from the water in large pieces, setting off the graceful and graceful flowers. lotus. A gust of wind blows, and the lotus leaves and lotus pods collide with each other, and the light pink flower arrows are in bud. Industrious bees and splashing dragonflies all came to join in the fun. It was "the little lotus showed its sharp corners, and the dragonfly had already stood on it."

Across the lotus pond, a girl held up a camera to take pictures of lotus flowers. Behind her, a middle-aged lady held an umbrella to protect her from the hot sun after the rain, just like a lotus leaf protecting a lotus bud. Their figures blend with the lotus leaves and flowers to form a beautiful picture. Isn't this scene the most beautiful scenery I'm looking for? I adjusted the focus and aperture of the camera and captured this beautiful moment.

Appreciating lotus flowers in the rain is different from usual, it seems more poetic!
