Appreciation and Translation of the Original Text Except Night

Dry kunkong, the years continue.

The end of the road is stormy, and the poor side is full of ice and snow.

Life fades with the years, and the body is forgotten.

There is no such thing as killing Su Meng. It's still early at night.

Dry kunkong, the years have passed, and it is vast. Although it is the end of life, the war of resisting Yuan and saving the country has shaken the wind and rain. Now in the remote border, I have suffered from cold, snow and frost. Life comes to an end with the years, and I have forgotten myself and the world. I no longer have the dream of drinking Tu Su wine in the New Year. I light the lamp alone and deeply feel the long night.

It is an ancient custom that on the first day of the first lunar month, the whole family get together to drink Tu Su wine. But at the moment, the poet is alone in his cell, accompanied by a solitary lamp, and I'm afraid he won't even dream of drinking Tu Su wine. The sharp contrast between the past and the present makes people feel bleak. It has been a long night, and I don't know when it will end. The poet can't sleep at night, sitting alone, silently smoking snuff over and over again. This silent "light-lighting" action contains a lot of loyalty and a lot of unspeakable meaning.

Although there is sadness and despair in the poem, there is hope in the deep. "The night is still early" means "When is the night long?" It expresses hope and hope with despair, but this hope and hope are profound. The poet's broad mind that he still cares about human safety in prison and his fearless, generous and calm mental state in the face of death through his poems will always inspire future generations.
