Reading Poetic Mindfulness: Learning and Accepting from Hostel

Maurane Jalaluddin Rumi was a famous poet and mystic in ancient Persia. His poems have a great influence on world theology and religion. This song "Hostel" seems to be the most vivid explanation of "acceptance" in mindfulness.

There are many Chinese versions of this poem. This version is not my favorite, but the content is similar, expressing the same information.

Acceptance means holding and holding something, and it also means mastering and understanding. Acceptance encourages our minds to embrace a true and profound understanding of reality. Acceptance puts us in a temporary pause, a certain period of tolerance, let nature take its course and a clear understanding. Sometimes the smartest reaction is to stay put.

Different from the traditional automatic response, acceptance gives us more reaction space and time, instead of becoming a slave of automatic response.
