Repeatedly express the sad mood of being away from home for a long time. At the beginning of this poem, readers see the bleak scene of frontier life. We seem to see the defenders collecting wild vegetables on the hillside in the wilderness, missing their long-lost hometown and counting the date of going home. At the same time, it is intertwined with personal homesickness and a sense of responsibility for the country. These are two contradictory but equally true thoughts and feelings. This combination of heroism and sadness constitutes the emotional tone of the whole poem, which shows the homesickness and bitterness of the people who will be recruited, and puts this feeling in the description of scenery and military life. The whole poem consists of six sections, imitating the tone of a garrison soldier in order to meet the European Union. The first five sections focus on the hardships of life, strong homesickness and the reasons why they can't go home for a long time, revealing that soldiers are not only willing to defend against the enemy, but also suffer greatly in the battle, showing their desire for peace. The sixth section ends the poem with a painful lyric, which is touching.
