Appreciation of Feng Zansong's Works
This is a poem describing the life of meditation. The first sentence points out the Zen example of "the wind moves or the standard moves". Both the wind and the banners are visible to the naked eye. This is a superficial phenomenon. In fact, it is not the wind or the flag that flutters, but the viewer's heart is moving, as the Sixth Ancestor said. If you suddenly have the idea of bad customs, you are impetuous and greedy for the world, then you will have no chance to meditate for life; When you return to your heart and seek Buddha, you will feel silence and indifference, and live a leisurely life surrounded by white clouds and green mountains. At this time, Zen is in your heart. The last 20 days mean: I'm getting old and weak recently, and I'm taking a break from my busy schedule. Birth, old age, illness and death are all people. The world is busy and upset, and I don't know that old age is coming and death is coming. When my temples are gray and I am old, I find that fame and fortune are just passing away and I don't have them with me. Only by getting rid of the noise of the world, cultivating my morality and meditation can we realize the Buddha's machine.
