Brief Introduction of History and Culture College of Hebei Normal University

The College of History and Culture of Hebei Normal University, formerly known as the History Department of Hebei Normal University and the History Department of Hebei Normal University, has a history of more than 50 years. Through the unremitting efforts of several generations of scholars, they have accumulated a fine tradition of research, formed a reasonable academic echelon, established a stable professional direction, laid an obvious teaching advantage, and emerged many historians such as Zhang Hengshou, Hu Rulei and Yuan. At present, a group of young and middle-aged scholars are becoming the academic backbone of the discipline, forming their own characteristics in the research fields of pre-Qin history, Sui and Tang history, ancient economic history of China, traditional economic transformation, modernization of coastal defense, political system of late Qing Dynasty, ancient world history and modern world history, and achieving fruitful results. At present, there are more than 575 full-time undergraduates, 222 master students and 7 doctoral students/kloc-0. Undergraduate enrollment has a history of 56 years and graduate enrollment has a history of 25 years. Nearly 10,000 undergraduate students and nearly 1,000 graduate students have graduated, which has delivered a large number of professionals to the society. The college has an ancient books research institute, a cultural relics room and a reference room. The Institute of Ancient Books Arrangement was established in 1985, and has published a large number of monographs on ancient books arrangement, which has a leading position in Hebei Province. Founded in 1955, the Cultural Relics Room has a collection of more than 1,000 cultural relics with complete categories and precious collections, which has amazed experts and scholars at home and abroad. There are as many as 200,000 books in the reference room, and there are 6 stacks, including wired stacks, tool stacks, series stacks, periodicals stacks, China history stacks and world history stacks, which are second to none among similar departments in China.
