How to distinguish cervical spondylosis from other diseases with traditional Chinese medicine?

Some syndromes in TCM clinic are often confused with cervical spondylosis, which should be carefully differentiated to avoid misdiagnosis and mistreatment. 1. Shoulder arthralgia is also called shoulder leakage, scapulohumeral periarthritis, scapulohumeral periarthritis, etc. Most people are around 50 years old. Its pathogenesis is deficiency of kidney-qi and deficiency of both qi and blood. The shoulder joint is attacked by pathogenic wind, cold and dampness, and the tendons and veins are condensed, qi and blood stagnate, which makes the tendons and veins dystrophy, the meridians tighten and scapulohumeral periarthritis. Shoulder pain is mainly manifested in one or both shoulder pain, which often leads to pain in other parts of upper limbs, and both shoulders can occur successively or simultaneously. Mild shoulder pain has no obvious effect on life and work. In severe cases, the shoulder joint activity is limited. Affect normal life and work. The pain is worse than at night. There is no obvious abnormality in local examination, only one or two tender points can be found. There are three main differences between shoulder pain and cervical spondylosis: first, although there is neck pain, it is obviously lighter than the shoulder; Second, although it can involve upper limb pain, it does not cause muscle weakness, numbness and numbness; Third, there is no dizziness and paralysis. 2. Stiff neck Modern medicine is called acute neck sprain, cervical joint disorder and acute torticollis. Stiff neck is a common disease, which is mainly caused by pillow height, poor sleeping posture and wind-cold attack. Its main symptoms are neck pain, stiff neck muscles and blocked neck movement. There are three differences between stiff neck and cervical spondylosis: first, stiff neck is acute, and the pain site is limited, which does not involve obstructive pain and numbness; Second, there is no dizziness; Third, although there is limited neck movement and pain, it recovers quickly after treatment. 3. Vertigo is a multi-symptom syndrome with complicated pathogenesis. Wind evil, ear diseases, eye diseases, qi deficiency and blood deficiency can all cause dizziness. There are three differences between vertigo and cervical spondylosis: first, vertigo of cervical spondylosis often occurs when the neck is overstretched or rolled over; Secondly, the tinnitus hearing loss during the vertigo attack of cervical spondylosis is relatively light; Third, drugs for treating vertigo are ineffective for cervical spondylosis. 4. Muscle joint pain is common in women aged 20-50, and its symptoms are pain in shoulders, neck, waist, back and buttocks, which is aggravated when it is cold, wet, tired and nervous. People with muscle paralysis often feel stiff joints, general fatigue, dizziness, numbness, swelling of limbs and abdominal pain when they wake up in the morning, and diarrhea and constipation often appear alternately. The pathogenesis of muscle joint pain is often due to emotional disorder, anxiety and anger, and stagnation of qi and liver qi, which leads to stagnation of qi and blood. There are three differences between the disease and cervical spondylosis: first, muscular arthralgia mostly occurs in women, but there is no significant difference between men and women with cervical spondylosis; Secondly, myalgia is systemic myalgia, which mostly involves all joints and limbs. Cervical spondylosis mainly involves the upper limbs, and other joints are not affected; Third, muscle joint pain is often accompanied by symptoms such as chills, less sweating, fatigue, loss of appetite, and cervical spondylosis often does not have these symptoms. 5. Cervical trauma Cervical trauma is not uncommon in daily life. Falls, sprains, European injuries, industrial injuries, traffic accidents, etc. can all lead to cervical trauma. Cervical trauma has different syndromes due to different degrees of violence, different parts and other factors. Neck pain is often caused by contusion and sprain.
