At the beginning of 2020, our museum was composed of the original Harbin Museum (Cultural Relics Station), Harbin Architectural Art Museum, and Harbin Party History Memorial Hall, forming a new Harbin Museum. Our library is a Category 1 public welfare institution, fully funded by the municipal government, and all exhibition halls are open to the public free of charge. There are currently 5 members of the leadership team (3 at the director level and 2 at the deputy director level), 9 internal departments, 72 people, and 60 current employees. On October 1, 2020, the new building complex (formerly No. 13 Liushu Street, Harbin Municipal Party Committee Office Area, Central Government) was officially opened to the public.
There are currently six exhibition halls (Harbin Sino-Soviet Friendship Association Site Memorial Hall, Harbin City History Exhibition Hall, Harbin Cultural Relics Museum, Xidobo Antique Art Collection Hall, European Copper Engraving Collection Hall, and Contemporary Image Art Museum). The second phase plans to build 9 exhibition halls (Heilongjiang Literature Museum, Heilongjiang Printmaking Museum, Russian Oil Painting and Sculpture Exhibition Hall, Harbin Travel Life Exhibition Hall, Northern Oil Painting Personal Collection Exhibition Hall, Harbin Clock Collection Exhibition Hall, Harbin Lacquerware Art Exhibition Hall, Celebrity Letters Exhibition Hall, and Ancient Ceramics Museum) , layout design is in progress, and the overall layout will be carried out after the design is completed and demonstrated. The new museum covers an area of ??nearly 32,000 square meters, with a construction area of ??74,000 square meters and a construction area of ??more than 40,000 square meters. It is the first comprehensive public welfare museum group in Harbin that integrates collection, exhibition, research, public education and training, and cultural exchange activities.
