Types of scars

Scars are common in daily life. Everyone has it more or less, but the color is different. Scar brings a lot of pain to friends who love beauty, and many people try their best to get rid of it. "Scar" brings great physical pain and mental pain to patients, especially the scars left after burns and serious trauma.

There are several kinds of scars here:

Superficial scar:

This kind of scar has a rough appearance, sometimes pigmentation or loss, but it is locally soft and has no dysfunction. Generally do not do special treatment. Clinically, it is common in skin abrasions, superficial infection of skin pus, superficial second-degree burns and the healing site of donor site after cutting thick skin graft. Superficial scars generally have no dysfunction, and with the passage of time, scars will gradually become inconspicuous. Therefore, superficial scar is a kind of light scar.

keloid

Keloid, commonly known as keloid, is an abnormal scar tissue that grows excessively after skin trauma or skin injury healing caused by unknown reasons. At present, the academic circles believe that keloids can be diagnosed if the scars caused by various reasons have the following characteristics: ① the lesions are beyond the original skin damage range; (2) continuous growth; (3) Nodular, cord-like or flaky lumps protruding from the skin surface are hard and tough, and the color is red.

Pigmented scar

? A scar on the surface of the skin, with brown pigment changes on the surface, neither higher nor lower than the skin surface, without dysfunction, but affecting the appearance.

Pitting scar

When scar tissue causes concave deformity of body surface, it is called concave scar. Simple concave scars are only linear scars and depressions in their areas, while extensive concave scars can be combined with subcutaneous tissue, muscle or bone tissue defects. To correct this deformity, we should not only deal with the scar on the skin, but also adopt different methods to repair the defect and restore its normal shape according to the degree of depression.

Hypertrophic scar

Scar hyperplasia Scar hyperplasia, also known as keloid, is caused by excessive proliferation of fibrous connective tissue. The skin surface of keloid is tumor-like hyperplasia, with smooth surface, ruddy and shiny color, and dilated capillaries are often seen. Skin damage extends outward from the edge and the crab's feet are deformed. Skin lesions vary in size, shape and hardness, such as cartilaginous, and the symptoms are mostly itching or pain or burning.

Contraction scar

Contraction scar is a kind of scar divided by the influence of limb or organ function. It not only has obvious dysfunction, but also has obvious appearance changes. It is more common in the healing of granulation wounds in large areas of burns, with deep and thick scars and a wide range. It can also be seen in linear scars with deep wounds on the joints. Because of its own contraction and hyperplasia, scar leads to limited joint activity, organ deformation and displacement deformity. For example, webbed scars are formed at the joints, and the joint extension is limited. For example, hypertrophic scars on the back of the hand have both hyperplasia and contracture.

Suture scar

There will inevitably be surgical scars after surgery. The choice of surgical incision will affect the surgical effect and the shape, size and depth of surgical scar, so choosing the correct surgical incision during operation will lay a good foundation for eliminating surgical scar in the future.
