The Five Classics refers to the Book of Songs, Book of History, Book of Rites, Book of Changes, and Spring and Autumn Annals. These five books are the oldest documents in our country and are also the main classics of ancient Confucianism in my country.
1. The Book of Songs is the earliest collection of poems in my country. There are 305 chapters in existence, consisting of three parts: Feng, Ya and Song. The style includes the style of the fifteen countries, with a total of 160 chapters; the elegant style is divided into Daya and Xiaoya, with a total of 105 articles; the ode is divided into Zhou Song, Lu Song, and Shang Song, with 40 chapters. The whole book collects poems from more than 500 years from the early Western Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC) to the middle Spring and Autumn Period (6th century BC).
2. "Shangshu" records about more than 1,500 years from the legendary Yao and Shun era to the Eastern Zhou Dynasty (mid-Spring and Autumn Period). The basic content is the records of ancient emperors' proclamations and conversations between monarchs and ministers.
3. "Book of Rites" is an important anthology of laws and regulations in ancient China, with 49 chapters in twenty volumes. The content mainly writes about pre-Qin rituals and embodies Confucian philosophy and educational thoughts. , political thought, and aesthetic thought. It is a collection of materials on Confucian thought for the study of Pre-Qin Dynasty.
4. "Book of Changes" is said to have been written by Jichang, King Wen of Zhou Dynasty. The content includes two parts: "Jing" and "Biography". It is the theoretical foundation of natural philosophy and humanistic practice in traditional Chinese thought and culture, and is the crystallization of the thoughts and wisdom of the ancient Han nation.
5. "Spring and Autumn" records the history starting from the first year of Lu Yin (722 BC) and ending with the fourteenth year of Lu Aigong (481 BC), totaling 242 years. It is the earliest extant chronicle history book in my country.
