Pre-Qin literature:

The pre-Qin period was divided into broad sense and narrow sense. Pre-Qin in a broad sense refers to the period from ancient times to the unification of Qin; Pre-Qin in a narrow sense refers to the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period before the reunification of Qin. There are not many literary works left before the Spring and Autumn Period, and the existing ones are mainly works during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Therefore, the pre-Qin literary works mainly refer to the literature in the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period. Before the Spring and Autumn Period, literature was mainly composed of primitive poems and myths and legends. The main styles of pre-Qin literary works are poetry and prose. Poetry includes The Book of Songs and Songs of the South, and prose includes essays of various schools such as The Analects of Confucius and historical essays such as The Spring and Autumn Annals.

Pre-Qin literature laid a solid foundation for the development of China literature and had a far-reaching impact on later literature.
