Petra is surrounded by red-brown sandstone mountains, which provides a natural barrier for Petra to resist invaders. Petra was founded in the 6th century BC by the nomad Nanabat Arabs who lived here. The ancient city of Petra is located on a mountain at an altitude of 1000 meters, with a dry climate. Almost all the buildings here are carved on rocks, surrounded by cliffs. There is an open-air theater in the city, which can accommodate more than 2000 people, in a Romanesque style. The audience and stage are carved from rocks, close to the rock boulders and integrated with the rock style.
There is a big square in the center of the ancient city of Petra, in front of which is the magnificent Hazna Palace. The whole palace of Hazna Palace is carved on steep rocks and on mountains, with a magnificent shape. The palace is divided into two floors, with six Romanesque doorposts reaching the top of the hall. The Madonna stands in the hall, lifelike. Although the murals in the wall are dim in color, the rough lines are still clearly discernible. There is a shrine between each pillar, dedicated to Wu Shen with wings. Now it's basically incomplete, but it still has its original charm.
