2015. The text Mencius told the world, students in Hebei Province learned it from the 2015 Chinese textbook. Mencius's name was Ke, whose courtesy name was Ziyu. He was from the state of Zou (now southeast of Zoucheng, Shandong). A philosopher, thinker, and educator during the Warring States Period, he was a representative figure of the Confucian school after Confucius and before Xunzi. Together with Confucius, he was called "Confucius and Mencius."
